Wildly overpriced for wildly bland pasta.

We got pasta with meatballs and their menu specifies they provide 4 meatballs. When we received less than expected and inquired, they said “yeah, it’s 2 meatballs cut in half”….
This is the best vodka sauce and freshly made pasta!! We come everytime we travel to DC!!

I ordered the rigatoni with the Vodka sauce and I was pleasantly surprised! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was really flavorful. Will definitely be back!! (It tastes better than it looks lol)
Cucina Al Volo Review: Good, But Not Quite AdMo
Cucina Al Volo's Union Market location falls short of its brick-and-mortar counterpart in Adams Morgan, but it still offers quality food. The lamb pasta, especially, is recommended. What sets it apart is the option to customize your protein, sauces, and pasta, allowing for a personalized dining experience. While it may not fully match the AdMo experience, it's still a solid choice for a satisfying meal.

Spinach ricotta ravioli with carbonara was good. The sauce was great. Portion was small for the monstrous price. If they're making the pasta themselves, then it's fine, but it was quite expensive for what you get - especially when you're not actually dining in a restaurant. We also got the eggplant parmesan sandwich. Bread was great and the sandwich overall was just okay. Probably won't be venturing here again.

Never order takeout from this place. They never check online orders so you'll have to wait at least 15 minutes for your food. The whole point of ordering online is NOT having to do that.

Waited 27 minutes and paid $18 for this "fettuccine carbonara," which is just fettuccine with alfredo sauce. In what world is this carbonara? Soupy, flavorless, and as other reviews have said, cooked without any salt at all.

Ordered the bacon perticina and shared it with my family, we all got horrifically sick last night. Something is wrong here with the food storage, based on other reviews i read I think this happened before.

Ate here yesterday, I think a lot of people think the food isn’t good enough for what you pay. However you get to pick you HOMEMADE IN FRONT OF YOU pasta and sauce and add ins, imo if you pick poorly and the combos don’t go well than you won’t like it. Just ask them for help picking and you’ll enjoy it. I would definitely go back, asked for help and got the spinach pasta and vodka sauce and it was 100% amazing

We wanted to branch out and try a different Italian restaurant to order for delivery. We deeply regret having chosen Cucina Al Volo. The quality of the entrees was on par with (poorly) mass prepared cafeteria food. Edible, but not appetizing and not worth the price. We ordered the cacio e pepe with chicken and the duck ragu. Both were edible, but not appealing. After a few bites, we quickly placed a new dinner order from another restaurant. Writing this review as I wait for it to arrive, confident that it will actually be a pleasant dining experience unlike the food we got from Cucina Al Volo that sadly will be thrown away.

I order from here a ton. The Cesar burrata salad is very tasty. I also really enjoy the smoked pappardelle with wild boar. And add meatballs for two huge portions.
