Not happy. I have had Danielle's multiple times and I love her cake. I have to admit I prefer the Tyson's location because the dc location looks and acts as if they just opened. I went in today around 6:15 to nothing but some cookies and one flavor pie. Where is the cake?!? I was second in line and never made it to the register to see what was up because the lady was moving in slow motion. All those people in the store, with a line, and only one person serving? Not to mention there was no cake!!! Come on now. Very disappointed.

Full disclaimer: I've only ordered online and tried the desserts, but have not physically been in the bakery myself, so I can't say anything to the interior of the location, but I can definitely speak for the desserts themselves! First off, it's fantastic that they offer gluten-free desserts! (That's one of the biggest reasons my office ordered from Danielle's in the first place). It was my last day at work and my colleagues wanted to order some gluten-free sweet treats that I'd be able to eat for my send-off. My colleague swore upon Danielle's as having the best cakes and bread pudding in the area...and she wasn't wrong! I was so surprised that they had a variety of gluten free cupcakes. My favorite was the red velvet and vanilla ones! They also have coconut macaroons that are gluten free as well. Sadly, the bread pudding wasn't gluten free (I know, we can't win 'em all!) I had a sizable bite and survived the stomach ache from the gluten--I couldn't help it!!--but you know what? It was totally worth it. It was REALLY good. Hey gluten-free folks, if you don't have serious Celiac's, it MIGHT just be worth having a bite. Like a small bite. (This is not medical advisement in any way). Anyway, even if you can't physically stop in to the shop, order online! It's very easy! You won't regret trying these amazing treats!

When it comes to baking this establishment wrote the book on cultivating moist, flavorful, deliciously memorable baked goods! From cakes to cookies you well never forget how the taste made you feel! Their Caramel Cake is the closest in taste to the one Mama used to make and to me that's simply amazing! Their desserts create a beautiful feeling of nostalgia for me & my family💙

One of the best tasting cakes I've probably had in a decade easily. I tried a sample of the orange cake also (yes they do samples) and there was no way I was leaving without the orange flavored cupcake.

After 2 years, my coconut cake craving was satisfied. Hit it up after going to the National Geographic museum!

Friend do y'all like eggshells in your food? Bread pudding is one of favs, so I stopped by Danielle's desserts to satisfy my craving... But the other day when I got home I got a lil surprise that I wasn't prepared for, egg shells in my first bite. I called to see if I could get some new bread pudding, the gentleman said he wasn't sure and that I would get a call back, that never happened - long story short, my CRAVING was never SATISFIED and I wasted my money.

It can be challenging to find a dessert shop in the city and even more challenging to find a good, if not great dessert shop. I stumbled upon Danielle's Desserts near Dupont and Farragut North out of complete accident and couldn't help but check it out due to pure curiosity. The atmosphere is very welcoming, the employees do a good job explaining which desserts they enjoy, and the offerings are reasonably priced. Upon first visit and seeing the many options of pies, cakes, and cupcakes, you're tempted to just get one of everything. I settled for a strawberry vanilla cupcake- the cupcakes themselves are also reasonably priced compared to pie and cake. Will definitely be making another visit here in the future.

Not only are the pastries outstanding so is the service! This was my first time ordering a cake from the DC location for a friends birthday and it was simply excellent. I ordered the sweet potato cake, and allowed the chefs to decorate it as they saw fit. The cake not only came out just how I envisioned but also stay surprisingly fresh a week later! The staff was just as sweet as the cake! Bravo Danielle and staff!

Easily one of the top 3 bakeries in the district. Cakes and pies have been consistently good for years. I'm from the south and everything made here reminds me of something my mom or an aunt has made at home. Definitely worth a visit.

Always on point. Best southern bakery in town. I travel during my lunch hour once a month to enjoy her baked goods. She is truly gifted.

You can tell business has picked up for Danielle's but I am not sure they can keep up with demand. Also please work on the display case. The items are good but the display is NOT that appealing.

Women owned. #winning Black owned. #winning Scratch baking. #winning Two locations #winning I adore Danielle's Desserts! It is my favorite bakery in DC with charming pastel Bubblicious-hued pink painted walls and many, many delicious home-styled baked goods. You will love the ambiance; those bubble gum walls and throwback R&b hits just send me into a tranquil trance. I've tried the yellow/vanilla cakes, pound cakes, some of the pies and cobblers. My favorite is the yellow cake with chocolate icing, but everything was good. The real icing on this cake is that Danielle, the proprietor, is a Black woman. That means something in 2019. That a woman is able to sustain a successful bakery in high rent Dupont Circle. Kudos to her. Scratch bakeries offer suffer from consistently issues, but that's not the case here. Each time I visited it was consistently scrumptious. You have to come support this business - not because it is a MWBE enterprise but because you will taste some of the best desserts that the DMV has to offer. Come on down.

This was some of the best bread pudding I have ever eaten in my life. When you walk into Danielle's, you just feel like you are at home. The staff is incredible, greeting you with warm Southern hospitality. I was put in a trance gazing at the display of three layer cakes, pies, cupcakes, and cookies. You will not be disappointed.

This is the best place for cakes and pies in DC. It's the same as the Danielle's Desserts in Tyson's Corner. Each location has its own on-site bakery, and Danielle spends time at both. The cakes are very sweet and Southern-style with lots of frosting. The pies are pretty standard in variety, but are just as delicious as the cakes. The crusts are flaky, and the fillings are delicious. They also have fantastic bread pudding and blueberry cobbler. Finally, they have cookies and cupcakes. These look good but I haven't tried them.
