Excellent service and kind staff who make you feel welcome. They were quick to refill our water glasses in case the food was spicy! I really excellent cozy, historic space with delicious vegetarian options.

Das was not what I expected. I thought the food was going to be more flavorful and better seasoned. I'm not saying that the food was not good or delicious, just not to the level I expected for a Michelin Star restaurant. I would not recommend it for someone who never tried to Ethiopian food before, they may think that is what Ethiopian food is. The service is good, quick and friendly.

Great experience! We had a group of 5 and tried many dishes and they were all great. The owner noticed we didn't order the fish and brought us a nice plate for us all to try. He also brought extra dishes even though we really didn't need them, but we ate the anyway and truly appreciated his kindness. The entire staff was wonder and I will be back any time I'm in DC.

If I could, I’d give DAS a 6/5 review. The food was incredible as was the service. We ordered the DAS chicken and beef sampler, special beef tibs, and Mild Ethiopian cheese. It was hearty, filling, and soo good. I haven’t had much Ethiopian food before, so this was an amazing introduction to the cuisine. The hostess, Rose, was so kind and welcoming. Our server, Feteya, was incredibly attentive and gave great recommendations for my friend and I. Our drinks were always filled and we always felt attended to. Thank you for an amazing experience!! I highly recommend.

This Ethiopian restaurant is situated at a convenience location, clean and beautiful.
However, the food is something else.
For non Ethiopian people it may be good even delicious but for Ethiopians, not that great.
Their enjera (እንጀራ) is made of white flour and doesn’t have any teff (ጤፍ) or other grains in it. Their tibs (ጥብስ) is just a joke. Not only it doesn’t test that good but the size is so small for a ~$30 dish.
Comparing this restaurant with the other’s, in the DC metro, it’s laughable.

A friend introduced me to this restaurant several years ago. The food is amazing. The owner came to our tablethat first visit asked us what we would like to try and created a delicious dinner. He also surprised our companion with a delicious birthday desert. Not once over the years has the food or service ever disappointed.
