Wonderful flavor and texture. All ingredients are plant-based. The eggplant and sweet potato filling was delicious and filling. The mixed veggie version (potatoes, cabbage, peppers, cilantro) was very tasty. The dosa dough was perfectly thin and crispy. There are also a variety of sauces, although they are not as hot as advertised. Will be back!
I was waiting 20 minutes to place my order. There was no one there but they were clearly open. I finally asked the stand next-door. They told me oh she’s sitting right over there. The woman working there could literally see me waiting for 20 minutes. During lunch rush this was at 1:30. She was maybe 10 feet from me staring at her phone. I actually saw her see me, but didn’t know she was an employee. Updated from previous review on 2025-06-20
Very filling, fair price. Yum
Prices on Google Maps are not updated
The potatoes had thick peels on them, and although the dosa tasted ok, it gave me indigestion.

Having grown up in India and eaten a lot of South Indian food, I can honestly say I was a little surprised at how good and fresh the dosas here were. I was expecting a more Westernized version of dosas but everything was as delicious, if not more so than the dosas we get at the traditional Udipis in India. Yes they have some non-traditional fillings but it's a pleasure to try something different than the usual fare. One thing that came through consistently in the 3 times I've visited is the freshness, tastiness and yumminess! A true treasure in DC and I wished I lived closer. Open one in Manhattan - we will welcome you with open arms!

Huge portions, all the food is vegan!! Tasty ?
Nice place to have gf option at the union market. Celiac safe. The veggie one was lacking on veggies other than cabbage, but still somewhat tasty savory crepe.
Dietary restrictions: Celiac safe and vegetarian

Place is inside a community food market with many other small shops. Dosa is alright, filings are not great or authentic. I will not waste money going again.

DC Dosa catered the Holi event on Monday 25th at Union Market. They listed their Dosa as costing $10 (plus tip). I was surprised when my bank account showed $1 more than what I allowed to be charged.Without realizing at the time, I went back for another (Dosa wasn't that good I was just very hungry) and there was another $1 surcharge that was not disclosed to me up front.I refuse to be a patron to places that LIE about how much they charge for their food. Even if it was a credit card charge, restaurants must be up front about these charges.
