Now I love this place, best bagels in the district but today I was given the smallest bagel I've ever seen. It's like a garlic knot size and doesn't even have a hole, wtf B&B I thought we were friends!

Our bartender was TJ. He was very sweet and knowledgeable of the drinks this restaurant offers. He made an AMAZING cocktail of the day! I will come back if he's serving.

Great spot for a bagel sandwich - especially on weekdays when Union Market is less busy.

Better of the bagel spots in DC, but as a former NY’er, it scratches an itch for a BEC, but I’ll still be bringing back bagels from ny when I come back from visiting family? pretty good knishes tho!

Every time that I visited this location,
The employees have been beyond rude and very nasty! The kitchen no doubt is consistently working hard here and making things happen! The FOH is where things always go wrong here! If they’re not barking at you while making drinks?, They’re handing out orders to the wrong people and mixing up items CONSISTENTLY! Frank was apparently the manager today, he was absolutely unapologetic and arrogant! No sense of leadership skills whatsoever! There’s a huge opportunity for coaching here! even the new guy at the front counter was over talking us with a nasty attitude after they gave out the order to the wrong people! These are the very people that cause your business big bucks! . Sometimes I’m coming here for breakfast or sometimes I’m working as a third party delivery partner and I can sure you? 250 Mass. has this location beat by a long shot. Training, people skills, problem solving and overall culture has to implemented at this location if they plan to retain loyalty from delivery partners or customers! So disgusted today!

Love Buffalo & Bergen’s food but the wait times are usually far longer than estimated even when it’s not very busy. Quite often orders are also wrong and forget to omit or add requested items. Would recommend going to the Capitol Hill location for a better experience since I do enjoy the food!

Let me start off by saying that the staff here was great and very attentive but thats where the niceties end. I don't understand why there are so many great reviews for this place. I know a lot of people have never had real NYC Deli style food. But this is Washington DC. Half the population seems to either be from, been to, lived, or have family in the NY tri-state area. So how on earth are all these people fooled by the pathetic offerings of this place?! I recently moved here from NYC, born and raised. My miserable existence sustained by jewish delis. One of my greatest sadnesses was that I wouldn't be able to get anything of my staple foods in this town. Friends looks far and wide, with suggestions of where to try. This place was one of them. As much as I appreciate all the help. I was very saddened when I was offered up a plate of stale fried meatstuff (2 slices) between two burnt pieces of what looked like rye bread. Its was tough, dry and utterly unpleasant. each bite when down like a mouthful of wood chips. It literally hurt to swallow! My companion got what they called "NY water bagel" with lox and whatever. The bagel was flat and rock hard like bagel chips. The stuff inside was ok, very skimpy. I can't say much about the other stuff on the menu, but judging by pictures Ive seen online, they are most likely on par with the two things we ordered. This place was a total overpriced disappointment. It actually made me mad. Disappointed is to say the least. More about my plight then this establishment. I also don't like when these chains call themselves NY Style when they don't have a clue what NY Style actually is. If you like this place, I'm sorry. I'm just calling it as I see it. If you see it different, I implore you to try the real thing the next time you are in New York. Also, whats with the name? Buffalo? Is this a reference to the town in upstate ny? I guess it would be accurate in that it would be tough to find anything NYC style up there. And Bergen. Is that Bergen street in Brooklyn? I lived off Begren for the last 25 years before moving to DC. I guess that would explain the hipster part...Oy...

Buffalo & Bergen Review: Great Breakfast Spot with Good Bagels

Located in Union Market, Buffalo & Bergen is a great place for breakfast if you're in the area. The bagels are good, and the overall food quality is great for the price (relative to other stands in Union Market). The counter service can be hit or miss, but one older gentleman with a clean-shaven head, who used to work a contractor/gov job, was fantastic. Overall, it's a solid choice for a satisfying breakfast.

Great food, but wish they didn’t include bacon, as it is a bad choice for a Jewish deli.

First time coming here. Placed my order and waited 45 minutes (yes, really) for two bagels and got ignored the whole time while trying to ask. There's literally no way it takes 45 minutes to heat a bagel and fry an egg.
