I love this place! The Whiskey Bar in SE is it for me! Now, I still don’t love smoked meat - but there are other eats that fit the need. Come for the drinks, stay for the good time.

Tender moist brisket, piping hot greens with a sweet note, and eclectic jalpeño grits. The service is friendly and professional.

The one weak point of this place is that the seating kind of sucks, with unduly high bolted in stools mismatched to a counter that’s too low for them. Then they have those common cheap metal counter stools with the handle in the seat. There are no tables here during my visit in September 2025. I’ve been here several times, but I don’t ever recall settling into a comfortable table to relax and dine-in here. This could all be designed to incentivize patrons to take their food to go. But don’t think you’re going to have a comfortable place to relax here as you sit down to a sumptuous meal.

I ordered thru Uber eats, I was disappointed with my order. $25 for 1/2 rack spareribs. They were not fresh and cold. Not bashing just giving my review. I see lots of reviews where the owner keeps saying the reviews are for clout and fake. That's unprofessional and not taking accountability. As for me, I'm over it. Life moves on.

I’ve been here a couple of times. I’ve always had great service with great food. On my most recent visit, I was treated badly. I don’t want to say it was because the color of my party and I skin however no one else was treated this way. My coworker recorded a video and posted onto social media. Customer service should be just as important as the product you’re selling. We won’t be back.

This is one of the worst BBQ places that I ever try in my life ( frequent flyer here). It was very cold at the time of serving, the BBQ spice was one kind only which was ok, but a place only serve BBQ must have at least 2-3 kinds as well as hot levels. Last but not least, it was very expensive compared to the value that I get ( Fries for $9) and sandwich only for $18. This is by far the worst place you could eat at! Don’t go there especially if you are traveling and trying to explore the city!

The brisket sandwhich I had absolutely blew me away - less than 20 bucks for the sanwhich and fries but I understand the cost, that sandwhich was GOOODDD!!, Some people complain about a food truck - but that is a truck that rip off this restaurants name and ruins it for every body. The food was really damn good, the neighborhood can be sketchy but theres cops thats sit around right outside, in my opinion from the brisket sandwhich - absolutely worth it.

The staff at this location are very unprofessional! They look down on black people and speak to their black patrons negatively while being in a black community! I won't be coming back!

Update: Unprofessional and the reply speaks volumes on its own. I dont know what this business is referring to there is no video attached to this review. But, trying to discredit all negative reviews says a lot..... I understand why this business holds the stars that it has.... So So SAD.
