The most incredible bar I've ever visited. Nerdy and passionate bartenders, inventive cocktails, and some of the best fried chicken I've tasted. I'm so happy we were able to make this stop in DC. It was everything promised and then some!
A really cool vibe and excellent cocktails. Not quite a speakeasy but the door is hidden away inconspicuously in Blagden Alley and it has that secretive vibe. It can often take a short wait to get seated, but the unique array of well-crafted house cocktails is worth it. The bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly even on a busy night. The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic, especially with the slanted skylights.
I have been twice now just for drinks and both times to celebrate a birthday. Firstly the drinks are fantastic and more along the lines of a science experiment or work of art. The menu changes so you need to just see what you like. Second, every bartender seems to be highly knowledgeable about the drinks and how to guide you to the right one. Would recommend but it is pricey so be prepared. Service is also fantastic, lighting is very low but appropriate for the atmosphere.
