Just so you know - every nonna/grandma slice has two mozzarellas: the regular shredded pizza cheese we use on the ny thin plus a fresh "fiore di latte" mozzarella. soooo cheesey
grandma slice - cup & char pepperoni
We use "cup & char" pepperoni. It's called that because is curls into a little cup when it cooks & chars a little bit on top. Keeping the juices close & adding that little bit of caramelization creates additional layers of flavor you wouldn't have without it. It's little things like this that make all the difference.
grandma slice - ricotta, heirloom tomato & fresh basil
This is nice. The ricotta adds a touch of sweetness, the baby heirlooms bring a fresh juicy pop & the basil leaf ties it all together.

Our 100% house ground pork sausage & oven roasted charred curly kale is another perfect combination on the nonna grandma style. If you want a whole pie, get the Gigi.

There were three of us that came at 7pm on a Tuesday. The first pizza came in a reasonable time but took over 45 min to get the second and over an hour to get my mini deep dish pizza. No apology. Looks like a lot of takeout orders. $2 coupon as advertised didn’t work. Seemed like both servers were inexperienced.

My fiancé and I are big fans of della barba and come all the way from NE DC to eat here on the regular. This is our go to dine in pizza option! As a Chicagoan it’s nice to finally have a decent deep dish pizza in this town. The Nona style pizza and homemade lemonade are also superb! The restaurant atmosphere is intimate and charming at both lunch and dinner! Highly recommend this place!

I had a 1/2 kale caesar salad and nonna pepperoni pizza slice (nice big portion). The pizza was good, with a very basic flavor. It wasn't spicy, sweet, tangy or anything that might scare off a picky eater... or inspire much discussion, but it was quality nonetheless. The salad choices (when I went), were limited to only two types of caesar salad, romaine or kale. I got the kale, and it was a good caesar salad. I don't normally order caesar salad, but I wanted something...
