Food was ok. Soup was solid. Like an expensive Panera. More disliked the atmosphere. Unorganized ordering. When we sat down the only place was next to a homeless person. And then was asked for money from another homeless person while eating. Probably wouldn’t come back or suggest to anyone. Soup was decent, but roast beef, small soup, and soda for $23 was little more than I wanted to spend.

Devon & Blakely: The Dynamic Duo of Lunch
In Latin America you have Wisin and Yandel. In Vegas, Siegfried and Roy. In Gotham City, Batman and Robin. In Washington, we have Devon and Blakely.
Their soups are great. Their sandwiches are great. Their salads are something else entirely — vast, leafy monuments to abundance. Each bowl feels like it should come with a carbon offset for the sheer scale of greens involved.
Behind the glass station stands the salad maestro, a tong-wielding virtuoso who rhythmically chops, tosses, and compresses vegetables into submission. The result is a tin tub filled to the brim, a perfectly diced ecosystem of roughage that will take the average mortal 45 minutes to chew through.
It’s excessive. It’s ridiculous. It’s delicious. Devon and Blakely aren’t just making lunch — they’re performing it.

They TOASTED my bread and I HATED biting into hard toast! I did NOT ask for bread to be toasted!!!! Ordering in person this doesn’t happen! Please communicate better for food delivery….So mad wasted money
Antonio is amazing. He helped me out even when he didn't have to. Top-tier genteman.
Relatively upscale looking place with wholesome sustenance. The shrimp and corn chowder really shone here. I had a make your own salad with beets and artichoke hearts, among my favorite salad ingredients. My boyfriend got the ham and turkey sandwich, which was delightful as well. The staff made the place very welcoming and they were super helpful!
Wow! So delicious! Spent the morning walking around the national mall and happened on this deli after our other options were very packed. It was still crowded inside- but that’s how you know it’s good food! So many options! You can customize whatever you want. My 3 year old loved the ham and turkey sandwich. I got the buffalo chicken wrap. So delicious! The staff was very nice. I would 100% recommend.
Food and service are really good!
Excellent place for your brief meal
My organization orders catering from this Devon and Blakely all the time in part because the food is better than Panera, but mostly because of the service. Just today we realized we had put in the wrong day for delivery for a 25 person lunch. I called and spoke to the manager and within 30 minutes the full delivery showed up and saved the day. 10/10.

I absolutely love their soups! I'm never disappointed and they let you taste any of the choices so you can't walk away and complain later. My only drawback and the reason for the three stars is that after spending $19.83 on two "bowls" of soup, and only getting one slice of bread. The cashier asks if you want bread. I said yes get back to the office and there is one slice of bread in the bag. One SLICE of bread for two $10 bowls of soup. Their bowls of soup are a nice size and I don't mind spending $10. However, I don't know how she came to the decision that one SLICE would or should be shared between two BOWLS of soup. She looked young but maybe she is from the era of the Great Depression and sees the need to ration bread. And the fact that it's literally sliced bread, not a broken off baguette or loaf bread, but a slice- I'm baffled! To go with a $10 bowl of soup? I didn't discover it until I got back to the office and couldn't reach anyone by phone to suggest they speak with the young lady and that when someone is buying two bowls, they either ask if you want one or two pieces/slices of bread or when they say yes to bread, give them a slice for each bowl. I'll still go back- I love their soup and I was eyeing the Greek salad heavy today but figured I had enough. They haven't lost me AT ALL!! Just fix the bread situation OR maybe that was her way of telling me I didn't need it! lol....

Excellent sandwiches and soups, plus a few other items. The staff is always friendly and courteous. It can be very crowded during the lunch rush, but the prices are fair and it's all made there in store.
