Excellent and yummy food, I liked the atmosphere the place has, and the cashiers were helpful. Will surely come back again.

I made a reservation but was told when I stopped by 90 minutes prior to the time that, because of the coronavirus, service was no longer being provided to diners inside the restaurant. I was courteously told I could order take out from the menu. I did and it was ready 20 minutes later. I live in a condo right behind the establishment so this worked out well.

I brought a group of 10 people to Dish for lunch. We had our own quiet area of the restaurant. Service was very good. Waiter was quite attentive. Food was very good. I would definitely go here for lunch or dinner again.

TL;DR: Come for drinks and dessert with excellent service, pass on appetizers. Expensive for what you get. We came here for dinner prior to a show at the Kennedy Center. It's a convenient walking distance. The restaurant is small and located in the lobby of a hotel, but not cramped. We both ordered the prix fixe menu. First and foremost- the service here is absolutely stellar. I really cannot say enough good things about the server, the manager, and the chef- all of whom we met over the course of dinner. Lovely people and extremely attentive. They're the main reason I'd recommend coming here. Appetizers- I ordered a mixed salad and I'd rate it a solid "meh". Pears weren't in season and didn't add anything to the dish. My partner got the calamari, which while the squid itself was fresh, the breading left a lot to be desired. Entrees- I ordered the steak frites, which was a little tough to cut but well-seasoned and not hard to chew, oddly enough. Overall, I enjoyed it. My partner had the pasta with chicken, which he thought was quite good. Dessert- Best part of the meal, hands down. Wherever they get their strawberries from, it's a great source. I had the gala apple beignet. I'll admit, my expectations were low. It was EXCELLENT. Out of the two, it was the better dessert. The only thing I'll say about it (and this is because I'm an idiot and didn't think to ask), was that it does have ice cream on it. It's great ice cream, but I can't eat it. It wasn't listed on the menu as part of the dish. I let them know, and I'm 99% they probably had it fixed by the next morning. My partner had the banana bread pudding and loved it. IMO it was pretty tasty. Overall, the price tag for the meal didn't quite jive with what we ended up getting. For a prix fixe, of course it's a deal, but the tab came out to $110 before tip- and we don't drink alcohol. I had a soda and tea with dessert, and my partner got coffee. Wine runs about ~$15/glass.

Outstanding service. Our waiter went out of his way to make sure we got to our show at the Kennedy Center on time and even gave us the suggestion to keep our car in their valet parking to save money on KC parking.

A few blocks from the Kennedy Center, this is a great place to have dinner before a show. The service was fantastic. From the great cocktails, delicious entrees and amazing creme brulee the experience was wonderful. We will be back! Highly recommend.

We had a group of five couples and had a super pre-theater dinner here. The waiter was excellent (has been a waiter for 35 years and knows his menu, wine and customer service). Some in our group ordered the prix fixe dinner, while others ordered a la carte. We arrived at 5 and had a leisurely time and easily made it to the Kennedy Center for a 7:30 start of "My Fair Lady". I highly recommend this place.

Service was pretty slow; one of our appetizers didn't come out until we reminded the waiter and had to go up to the bar to ask for refills of drinks a couple of times. Entrees were decent though, and dessert was delicious.

Good food, nice wine, great deal on parking near the Kennedy Center. Intimate, not overly formal atmosphere, welcoming to jeans or opera garb.

The food and service here are simply okay. I have come here more than once because of its proximity to the Kennedy Center, but things were very mediocre, especially considering the price.

The food was very good. The service was ok but slow. The restaurant is very noisy. They were out of the house wine and then the computer was down and we had to scramble for cash. We were going to the Kennedy Center so we could not wait around for a long time after we finished our meal.

We had a reservation yet no table was available w/o a wait. Mngr offered free drink and did not deliver. Pre fix was so slow, we couldn't eat dessert there before we left for KC show. We were there over 90 min. Tho' we jokingly stipulated that our to go dessert not include ice cream (of course) we opened our desserts to see soggy floating ice cream mush. Not much to favorably review.

Celebrated a friend's birthday with a delicious lunch. The setting is elegantly relaxed & cozy, on quiet 25th street in Foggy Bottom, with good bus & metro stops close by. We chose the 3 course prix-fixe, which had a tasty range of options for apps, entrées & desserts at a very reasonable prix ?. The calamari was nice and happily breaded with a light touch. Our steaks was cooked perfectly to rare & medium rare and the frites looked & tasted hand cut. My friend loved her warm flourless chocolate cake (that arrived with a birthday candle!) & I thought my pistachio creme brûlé was yummy (although I couldn't taste pistachio). Definitely plan on going back.

Very enjoyable place for meeting friends or companions before a Kennedy Center show. At 5pm mid-week it's quiet enough to talk very easily, but by 6:30 or 7, expect the pre-performance crowd to be plentiful and exuberant. There is a prix fixe menu for big meals, the drinks/wine menu is quite nice, I wish there were more options for small plates, however. Still, very nice indeed, and there's not much else in this neighborhood that really suits a pre-performance social site.
