District Kitchen

Had a birthday reservation booked a month in advance to District Kitchen for July 6th. I was excited to try their food and celebrate here. They canceled on me a week before my birthday. No email, no call, just a cancelled reservation on Open Table. When I called, the guy I spoke to said so matter of fact, that they were closing for 10 days. No apology or anything. It was upsetting because I had this booked in ADVANCE. It’s not easy finding a reservations in DC for a table of 10 so last min. When I asked if they just found out about the restaurant closing I didn’t get an answer. He said he could have the manager follow up with me. It’s July 26th, still no follow up. Luckily Mi Vida on 14st was able to accommodate me and my guest. Beautiful restaurant, good food, good drinks. Glad I was able to go there instead. Won’t be reserving here again. Very unprofessional and careless.

My friends and I had a great time having drinks and apps at the corner table here. The live music and atmosphere were the highlights. I was surprised that it was not more busy for a Saturday night, but that worked out for us.

The mac and cheese is outstanding and the arancini were good. Don't miss the bundt cake. Moreover, the live music added to the scene.

This is a very affordable restaurant given the DC area pricing. They do have a kids menu although it is not advertised. They have daily specials. Happy hour is everyday. The service was a little disorganized but very friendly and helpful. Portion sizes are very large. Even the appetizers and children 's portions are plenty.

Restaurant is nice and their service was excellent. The only problem we had was at my wife ordered a salad with salmon and they forgot the salmon. Once the salmon came out, it was undercooked. They noticed this quickly and took it off our bill. We actually didn't complain, If it wasn't for that situation, I would've given the restaurant 5 stars. I would go back and this should not deter you from enjoying the restaurant. It's location is near/ walkable distance from the Omni Shoreham hotel . 

My work recently hosted a retirement party at District Kitchen and DK’s team was exceptional and attentive to make sure the event ran smoothly. DK helped us organize an event that met our budget and from start to finish they were easy to work with. Drinks and food were delicious. Many of our guests commented that they really enjoyed the food and ambiance. Our event was supposed to end at 9pm but we had a few people linger behind catching up and DK was accommodating and flexible about letting us stay a bit longer. We would consider hosting future events here again. Thank you for everything District Kitchen!

District Kitchen hosted a private event for my corporate business dinner of 45 people, and it was a huge success! I cannot complement Miguel and his staff enough. We had a three-course limited menu and absolutely everything came out prepared perfectly. Food and open bar was very reasonably price. I asked to hire three-piece jazz combo that DK usually has in on Friday nights. They were a hit, too. My business hosts this dinner once a year in various cities around the U.S. Many of our attendees pulled me aside and said this was the best event we've hosted. Thanks again to District Kitchen! I highly recommend for private events!

Visiting DC. Just walked in asked for seats. Got great service. Drinks were fabulous. Food was good. Tuna tacos were delicious. PEI mussels also great. Great place to get a reasonable priced dinner served hot and with great service.
