Okay mass-market taco spot in DC. Come during non-lunch hours or it will be jammed up with tons of people. I miss the days pre-pandemic when you could get your own little tiny peppers, pico de gallo, and salsas. The new system is probably easier on the staff, to be fair, but customizing one's taco was the primary appeal of this place (at least for me).

Im a taco expert. A lot of people ask me in the DMV are these tacos good? Let me tell you District Taco has great tacos just as good as the best locations in DC, and the cilantro sauce is just like it should be. Even though its a chain, I can tell someone went to mexico and got the recipes. The salsa and quality if meat and tortilla are of high importance obviously. I would order only steak, the rest of the marinated meats don't taste like they should in my opinion. I like this location because it's close to work so I can walk there during lunch.Parking: Horrible parking, better to walk or metro

We are traveling with WorldStrides on a children’s school trip. This is one of the places they brought us. It’s great. We were given several different choices. The tortillas appear to be home made, the chicken was seasoned to perfection. The toppings were fresh. The churro was yummy. The salsa was ok, but I’m from AZ close to the Mexican border and like my salsa spiced! I would definitely stop again if I’m ever in DC.

You have to use a screen to order, which makes customization of your meal quite difficult. I ordered a bowl, the taste was average and the consistency a bit dry.
I stopped by in the afternoon, and there was only one other person in the restaurant. I had never been and was trying to decide what to try, looking at the menu when two different employees looked my way and walked off. I thought that was weird since it wasn't busy. You have to place your order on a kiosk, so I opted to try the salsa and chips with a side of queso. There was an option to add Carne asada to the queso, so I did, I thought it was a little expensive, but I wanted to try it. I opened my order and was surprised to find the smallest thing of queso and about 4 or 5 pieces of Carne asada on top of the queso. The queso and the Carne asada had good flavor. The steak was tough. I was not a fan of the salsa it was very bland, no heat, and tasted like someone dumped in half a bottle of liquid smoke. It was very off-putting, and the chips were very salting and stale. I ended up throwing most of the food away.

My tacos were cold and we ordered in the restaurant to dine in - the steak does not taste right and it probably was not fully cooked because it was cold, not warm it felt like it was pulled out of the refrigerator and slapped in there. Tacos are extremely tiny and not worth the price in my opinion. The only good thing was the queso. Would recommend going literally anywhere else, extremely disappointed.
