Ordered the wings - half saucy mumbo, half dry rub old bay. Good flavor, the chicken was not too dry. The old bay was quite salty. The veggies on the side was not fresh looking - celery sticks were a bit floppy. The caesar salad with salmon was decent. The server was very friendly, but overall service was slow during dinner when it's busy. Get a drink at the bar across the floor; the bartenders are pretty quick!

I am not sure why this restaurant is so poorly rated here. It’s a pretty decent place for a hotel restaurant, the food is good (we’ve had dinner here several times), but the most important thing is that they now have super nice and friendly staff here!
Kid-friendliness: They have kid’s menu with several decent options.

Located within the Embassy Suites in the Georgetown area, the inside of the hotel is beautiful and spacious. The waitress was friendly and hospitable. The food hit the spot for a late dinner, as we just arrived from a long road trip from home. The portion was good and reasonably priced.
I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to have a small, quick dinner in the area.

horrible service, waitress was very rude and sarcastic
The shrimp tacos & bacon cheeseburger were very good & tasty.
The servers were friendly and professional.
I would definitely come back.
This restaurant is located at the Embassy Suites/Hilton Club Hotel. It is an open concept restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. The first night we went, the service was excellent. So much so, that we decided to eat there the next night too. However this night was much busier and while we had the same server, she was spread very thin. My steak came out first, then 5 min later, our appetizer and my son’s drink, and my son’s chicken strips and fries weren’t served for 10 min after my steak!! How does that even happen? She was so busy, we never saw her again until we needed the check. Our experiences on each day were so vastly different. I felt this was unacceptable restaurant service at such a wonderful hotel.
As for the food, it’s overpriced for what you get but I noticed this seems to be the theme in DC. My son got a bowl of spaghetti off the kids’s menu @ $12. It came with no bread or sides. My husband got a chicken sandwich and fries which he said was very good. I got the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. First let me say, the fettuccine was absolutely delicious, despite not having any roasted red peppers like the description said on the menu. With that said, I was very unhappy that I spent an extra $9 on the grilled chicken which was not good at all. In fact, I picked it all out. I recommend skipping the chicken. The Alfredo was $21 with the chicken being an additional $9. Again, there was no bread or sides. Some broccoli on the side would have complimented it greatly. And please serve pasta with some sort of bread. The second night, we ordered Buffalo wings at $17 but were served the Mamba wings instead. They were really good though. My son ordered chicken strips off the kid’s menu and said they were good. I ordered a Ribeye steak at $42. It was just okay, definitely not worth $42. I’ve had much better Ribeye for way cheaper. The mashed potatoes, while a very small portion, were very tasty though.
My take away would be, if you are staying at the hotel and don’t want to go out and it’s not busy, go ahead and eat here. But do not expect to be wowed. If you are not staying at the hotel, do not go here, there is much better food elsewhere.
This restaurant has the potential to be great. The hotel it’s in is wonderful and beautiful. But they need to get more servers so they can give the kind of service we received the first night we came. Also, the food quality needs to be much better, especially at your price point.
Also, if you are staying at the hotel, go during the evening happy hour, and you can enjoy hors d’oeuvres and free drinks, while you wait for your food.

Sat down and waiter told us it would be about a 30 min wait for food since it was busy. Ok, but actually waited over an hour for HALF of my order and told me some of what I ordered wasn’t available anymore (after an hour of waiting!). Then waited another 30 minutes for my son’s burger that was essentially raw!!! Complained to the waiter and manager and basically watched them make a second burger. So it took them 1hr and 45min to make a burger. Not to mention they ran out of all the tap beer!! And you’re called District Tap?! I refused to pay the bill. Never coming here again. Avoid at all costs. A shame because the hotel itself is nice.

Worst experience ever in a restaurant! We really wanted to eat in the hotel and give it a try but it was the worst idea ever! We waited 1 hour and a half for the worst food you can ever had… just don’t loose your money…

This is the hotel restaurant within the embassy suites. It’s a very airy open seating area with a bar serving cocktails, wine and about 5 beers on tap. Went with a Vienna lager that was perfect to wash down our appetizer of buffalo wings which came out very quickly, were hot, juicy and very flavorful. It’s $17 for a plate of around 10 but given that they were cooked to perfection I was ok with the price. Hubby ordered the Alfredo with chicken he needed more sauce so asked for extra and they brought it out in a small bowl no problem. I went with the shrimp tacos which were excellent, 3 plump fresh shrimp with this incredible pineapple slaw with a house sauce that was a perfect compliment to the slaw. I’ve had a lot of shrimp tacos in my life and these were up there in top 5 category. Our waitress was very attentive checking on us and clearing out plates as needed. Finished off with their house cheesecake that was very light and tasty and got it to go so forgot to grab a pic before devouring it in our room. I know from reviews others have had unfortunate experiences with the food here but we were very pleased with our meal and would definitely come back.

Wife ordered the quail and I ordered the burger. Waited 40 minutes, server finally came over with the quail, and asks me what I ordered again. Well I definitely wasn't going to wait another 30 minutes for a burger, so I left back to my room. Wife says the quail was bland and doesn't recommend it for what it's worth.

Went for dinner on a busy Sunday evening. All the staff were excellent, and our server, Nebiat, was superb. The food was very good, with good portions, and was served in pretty good time.

I’m an HGV owner and DC is my home location. I lived in DC for almost 4 years before I moved to Chicago and I come back 2-4 times a year. When I’m “home”, I get the best service from Jose, Nebiat, and Rachelle at District Tap.
