Dolan Uyghur Restaurant 3518 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 My daughter has recently moved to the D.C. area and is determined to try as many different types of cuisines from the many cultures that call this area home. I was more than pleased to tag along and try Uyghur cuisine. Parking was found around the corner on the street. There is an upstairs and downstairs with cozy areas to sit and dine. Large glass windows in front offer a nice view of the activities of this eclectic neighborhood. Our first foray into Uyghur cuisine was a delight and introduced a delightfull mix and different flavors of well prepared foods. We started with a large French press style carafe filled with one of the most delicious teas I have had in a while. They have their own blend of Dolan Gul Chai which is a floral tea. It was so enjoyed by both of us that we both purchased the 100g canister of this tea to bring home. For appetizers we tried both the Samsa (minced beef, lamb and onion) and the Kawa Samsa that was filled with butternut squash onions and peppers. They were delicious but sadly served as just one piece. We also tried the Arlash Korma, Goshnan and saved room for a dessert of Uyghur Yogurt. I would definitely like to come back and try more of their traditional styles of food.
First, I made a reservation at the wrong restaurant I meant to go to the restaurant beside. The service was fine as were the green beans. The dishes they recommended were very poor. I would not return.
My first visit to Dolan Uyghur was at their new restaurant in Rockville. The food and service were outstanding. I expected a similar experience at the DC restaurant this past Saturday night but was disappointed. The Royal Laghman with chicken contained barely any meat and the Korma Chop with tofu had virtually no vegetables. The portions were also meager. There were few people in the restaurant yet it took several minutes for a waiter to show up at our table. The food service was relatively quick, though. Also, they do not serve any alcohol.
Excellent service. Delicious food. Very pleasant ambience. Definitely a repeat. Tim was an outstanding server and host.

Great tasting, authentic Uyghur food 5 feet from Cleveland Park metro stop. Place was packed and there are so many great tasting dishes. I was hoping for some of the Uyghar bread I used to get in Beijing years ago but did not see any.

Dolan is a 10/10 restaurant. I highly recommend the Korma Chop and Dolan Chay. The service is so good! Definitely a neighborhood favorite spot. I keep coming back to it. The food is so fresh, hot, and high quality.

The pumpkin manti was the best, really loved it
What a great restaurant!! The food was absolutely delicious. We were seated upstairs in a bay window which kept the noise level to a minimum. Allowed our dinner group the opportunity to converse and enjoy the evening.
Food was excellent as was the service. There were 5 of us so we were able to try many different dishes and share them. The noodle dishes are particularly tasty as well as the eggplant and lamb. I highly recommend!
Delicious fresh food, beautiful presentation. Wonderful attentive staff, highly recommend. We will definitely return to enjoy an evening with music of Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Thank you very much.

It was a delightful meal, and I would definitely return. The food was very good. However, the pumpkin dish I ate did not have the full flavor of pumpkin... the fried pastry and other flavors took away from the pumpkin and there was not enough of it. The dumplings were very flavorful, but I did have to spit out some grissle that was there. My husband loved the Mongolian beef and the appetizers with the naan bread were wonderful!
Had dinner to celebrate a birthday with a large group of friends and everything was amazing.
Definitely try the hand pulled noodles and skewers. And save room for desert, the honey cake is 🔥
Nice and cozy little restaurant with friendly staff, we had breakfast , coffee was good . Baklava are delicious..
From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed by a warm and friendly atmosphere. The menu was quite rich, offering options for every taste. The main courses, in particular, were extremely delicious and thoughtfully prepared. But what truly made this experience unforgettable was the wonderful service from our waitress, Cemre :) . She gave us great recommendations, and every one of them was spot on. we will definitely come back again
Food was great!
