I love the hot cocoa from Dolci Gelati at the National Zoo for Zoo Lights. I bought 1 for me and 1 for a friend & went back again for a second night for more on the last night of Zoo Lights. Whipped cream, chocolate & caramel syrup is added to the top. It’s the best treat on a cold winter night or day at the zoo. Thank you!! I’ll keep coming back & bring friends.
It used to be my favorite place in DC, but I have to admit that Dolcezza has really caught up. Flavors were OK, but lacking creativity. Service was poor. Who wants the person behind the counter being busy on the phone when you come in? Ambiente? The music was just too loud. Bummer.
This place offers just awesome gelato and I am very happy to be back. Portion remain of good size, and all the flavors tried were as always awesome in texture and sweetness. Mascarpone fig, dark chocolate, passion fruit - you name it…and: apart from all the gelato flavors, they now have a lot of fruit sorbets to choose from.
