Id say food was unfortunately pretty mediocre, though the service and atmosphere was great.
We got drunken noodle and red curry. Drunken noodle was average/decent, though the rice noodle felt soggy not chewy.
Red curry was pretty disappointing - portion was small but thats expected in this area; but in that small portion there was barely any stuff in it. Some pieces of chicken and few pieces of veggies. It looked pretty sad, tbh id rank it as one of the worse red curry ive had in dmv. Duck roll was good!

Tried Donsak Thai Restaurant in Woodley Park and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken at “regular spicy,” and they were very good, flavorful, served quickly, and definitely spicy. I didn’t get any appetizers or drinks this time, but the main dish alone made it a great experience. Our server was very nice and very attentive to our needs. We were a party of five and she had no issues splitting the bill for each of us. I’ll definitely be going back!

This is, without question, my top Thai restaurant for truly authentic Thai food, and I say that after trying many Thai restaurants across the United States. What keeps me coming back is their Isan (Essan) menu, especially the standout dish papaya salad with fermented blue crab, a must for anyone who has lived in or traveled through Thailand or Laos and understands real regional flavors.
The pricing is reasonable neither expensive nor cheap and the location is conveniently close to the zoo, making it an easy stop. My husband and I return every two weeks specifically for their Donsak noodles, which are consistently excellent and worth the repeat visits alone.

I ordered take out from here twice: the first time I thought it was very good, the second time I was not impressed at all. Let’s start with what I didn’t like: the pork belly dish (see photo) was so so tough to point where I decided it actually wasn’t edible. Awful. The drunken noodles were good, but the portion was very small - much smaller than takeout competitors in the area and definitely not shareable. The good - the green curry and pad Thai were both very flavorful and I enjoyed those dishes. Maybe I caught them on an off day the second trip.

Nice atmosphere and staff. I had the som tam (papaya salad) and grilled chicken with a draft Singha beer which i can highly recommend.

This was our first time to this area of DC. After visiting the zoo, we were wondering around and many of the restaurants were almost empty except for this one. I took it as a good sign they had a decent amount of customers dining in on a Sunday evening. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and our server. All of the food came out fast and hot.
We got the Curry puffs, which were good flavor-wise but were somewhat small for the price. The sauce on the side was amazing and felt handmade.
I got the Pad Thai and was a little underwhelmed. It tasted very one-note and mostly of vinegar. I didn’t really get a lot of flavor from the peanut or the sweetness/savoryness like how I am used to when I order Pad Thai from other places. Because it was so acidic from the vinegar taste, I didn’t even really want to use the lime wedge on top. They did give me extra veggies with it when I asked which I appreciated!
My fiance got the pineapple fried rice, and I liked this a lot better. My only complaint was the pineapple was cut into huge chunks and could have been cut a little smaller to be easier to eat and mix into the rice.
The Thai tea and Thai lemon tea was delicious, and the mango sticky rice for dessert was fresh and sweet and amazing. The prices were a bit high on the dessert and appetizers, but the entree portions were very big and we were able to get two meals out of each entree.
Overall, I would come back here if I was in the area, but I would not go out of my way to come to DC to eat at this Thai restaurant. It has lots of good things and the food was definitely not bad, just did not appeal to my personal tastes.

I waited at the front desk for over 10 minutes, but no staff member was present to greet or assist me. Unfortunately, no one approached to ask what I needed, and after waiting, I decided to leave.
Great food, comfy atmosphere and right next to the metro. Good beer too

Everything was delicious! Some restaurants skimp out on salads, but theirs was just as high-quality as the main dishes. If I lived nearby, I'd be back for sure.

Really delicious, with a ton of options of Thai dishes we'd never heard of. We tried a bunch of different things and they were all great. Would love to go back and give some more a try.
