we were in the area to visit another bakery. while looking for parking, we saw a huge line and decided to investigate. we were surprised to see it was fully vegan! decided to wait in the line and it was worth it. unfortunately they were out of stock of a lot by the time we got inside, but everything we were able to order was phenomenal Updated from previous review on 2026-02-15
I arrived about an hour and a half before they closed and they still had a lot of fun flavor options. The donuts were easily as good as you would get at Dunkin' or Krispy Kreme, but all vegan! I loved the variety and they don't skimp on the filling. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-17
This is the one, the best donut you will ever have. Worth a special trip. Whether you're a cake donut or yeast donut person, you'll find something you'll love. No bad options. 100% vegan. Most days they sell out around 12:30-1:00 pm and selection may be limited for that last hour before they close. If there's a line out the door, just go ahead and wait, it usually moves pretty quickly. It's a short walk from Takoma Metro station, or there's usually street parking in front or around the corner.
Boston Hardcore Cream! Upon arrival, super kind people - opened door for me. Personnel were patience and kind, everyone was buzzing from last nights historic voting results. Yay democracy! Today is also National Donut Day?! Highly recommend for my fellow vegans that enjoy a sweet treat. I got a fluffy Boston Cream - favorite! I can’t wait to come back again and try other flavors! Siiiick location and minutes walking from metro. Updated from previous review on 2025-11-05
Vegan, punk donuts. What more could you ask for?
Pro tip-- get a box of donuts here and coffee at Lost Sock across the street for the perfect Takoma combo.

Some of favorite sweets in DC (that just so happen to be vegan 😋) and great, fast service. The shop is located conveniently near a metro stop and bus stops and offers different flavors by the month. HIGHLY recommend, loved by vegans and non-vegans alike.

Moving to Northwest has been great. Discovering donut run is so close to my house has been a gift and a curse. The donuts are amazing arguably the best in the city. I've returned multiple times since my initial visit. The staff is excellent and always have been nice and friendly. The options are vast with rotating specials. I definitely recommend!

I normally go to Calsons on telegraph rd in severn md which are hot fresh and bigger! I can get a half dozen for $9. Here I paid $3.50 for 1 and the customer service was sub par.

$44 per dozen (including tax) as of 2025-09-29. That's their second large price hike in less than a year. Nobody could tell these were vegan.
Better than Astro Doughnuts, but not as good as Sweet Crimes. And definitely not as good (or cost-effective) as Handcraft Doughnuts.

Crazy good donuts for any vegan or allergy folks. The whole fam loved them. The pumpkin whip was especially amazing. Good coffee and friendly service too. Worth the drive if you’re not nearby (we’re in Nova) and will be back!

Very good donuts, soft and fluffy and lots of different flavours! I can recommend the chocolate cake donuts which I tried there the first time, and the apple fritter!
The best blueberry cake donuts in DC. Even worth driving out to Takoma Park! Expect a line outside the door that doesn't move particularly fast, but again, is worth the extra time.
