Flawless food and service. Great ambience. Music not too loud. Went for a meal after a day of meetings. No minuses really.

We enjoyed Dovetail very much! The food was all delicious. We actually went twice - once for the happy hour and the next night for dinner. The happy hour small bites were fabulous. $2 oysters, a nice charcuterie board, and amazing crab deviled eggs. The dinner was equally delicious- I had a delightful tagliatelle with clams and artichokes. Service was excellent - shout out to Yusuf, who was our waiter both times.

Had a blast on our Valentine's Day date at Dovetail! Our server was a rockstar - super knowledgeable and just kind as can be. The steak decided to play it rare side, but hey, the meal it self was great. Definitely a fan of the Old Fashion. Overall, an amazing experience that has us thinking, 'When's the next visit?' Cheers to good vibes and great food!

Food was great. A little pricey but they stayed open late. Food was good but portions are small. Overall I'd recommend if you want a quick dinner really cool outdoor bar/fire pit area.

We came in for happy hour (daily from 5pm-7pm) and the food was amazing! Burgers, wings, oysters, deviled eggs, and drinks all came in at $100 even with gratuity included. Great happy hour value!

We ordered a 3 course special. The pumpkin soup was stunningly presented and exceptional in flavor and texture.I had a hanger steak for my main course and it was perfectly cooked. An opportunity was missed in the garnish - a weak balsamic of low acidity was chosen, and, while creative, it missed the mark.Dessert was ambrosia, and it was full of tasty surprises and textures. One dessert at the table was missed - an oversight hard to explain on a quiet and rainy Sunday night.I would most certainly do this again, as this was a wonderful experience overall.

Title: A Birthday to Remember at Dovetail I recently celebrated my fiancé's birthday at Dovetail, and I cannot express how special they made the evening for us. From start to finish, our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. Upon entering Dovetail, we were warmly greeted by the staff and immediately felt the inviting ambiance of the place. The cozy, dimly lit dining room exuded an intimate atmosphere, perfect for a romantic celebration. We were seated at a beautifully set table, complete with a birthday card and 2 complimentary glasses of Brut Champagne —a lovely touch that made us feel genuinely valued as guests. The menu at Dovetail is a culinary masterpiece. The chef's dedication to using fresh, seasonal ingredients was evident in every dish we sampled. Each course was a delightful surprise, both in presentation and taste. The flavor combinations were innovative and thoughtfully crafted, and the portions were just right—leaving us satisfied without feeling overly stuffed. Our server was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They patiently answered all our questions, provided recommendations, and ensured that my fiancé's dietary restrictions were taken into account, resulting in a customized and delectable dining experience. To top it all off, when it came time to celebrate my fiancé's birthday, the entire staff came together to create a memorable moment. They brought out a beautifully plated dessert adorned with a birthday candle. It was such a touching gesture that truly made my fiancé's day extra special. Throughout the evening, the attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction were evident. The staff's professionalism, combined with the exquisite food and charming ambiance, made our visit to Dovetail a truly memorable experience. In conclusion, Dovetail exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're looking for a restaurant to visit, this is it!

My date and I were crammed into a tiny table very close to another small table. There were lots of open tables in the restaurant, the table next to use had a girl that kept cursing and talking about work. Food was salty

I went for restaurant week brunch. It was okay, nothing spectacular- unless I didn't order the right thing. Deviled eggs were ok. A weird consistency. The chicken and waffles- the waffles were drenched in a heavy sauce and then the chicken was left dry and needing seasoning. Cocktails were $15, including a glass of mimosa but unlimited mimosas were $18pp. I found that a bit interesting. Ended up just getting a regular cocktail. I don't think I'd go again or if I do, would get completely different things.

We like the Mini Chefs Baking Class. The area director helps schedule and confirm the class days before our arrival, my daughter and us had a great time! We appreciate the schedule and patient of Chef. After the class, we had dinner at the restaurant, the salmon is so tender with crispy skin, the big bacon next to salmon is a surprise, the shape looks like the famous shanghai hong shao rou. We also like the food on kids's menu from presentation to the flavor.

I had a delightful meal here during a recent DC trip. I started with some oysters and then moved on to the salmon with grits, greens, and bacon. Both were enjoyable, and I would order them again. I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 because the cocktails were a bit underwhelming. I don't like boozy cocktails, but I do appreciate a little punch to them; the cocktails here lacked that. But the food was good, and the atmosphere struck a good balance between chic and casual.

This was the perfect location for a solo dinner. Nice and quiet, and it didn't feel weird that I was there by myself. It wasn't busy the night I went, so I was spoken to by almost every employee there, which felt really special. The cocktail I had was so well-crafted, and the food was incredible. Prices felt pretty standard for DC. Would absolutely return.

Food, service and atmosphere were all great. We had a big party and only one of was unhappy with their dinner and they had a burger and said it wasn't the best ever. The rest of us were very impressed. I suggest the hush puppies (get extra). So tasty.
