My friend wanted to visit here for brunch to get their English breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed! I ordered the avocado toast which was delicious as well. Servers were attentive and prices were reasonable.

I went to Duke’s Grocery in Foggy Bottom and had an overall great time with friends. The service was decent, though our waitress wasn’t very attentive and we ended up waiting quite a while for the check, which was a little frustrating. That said, the burgers are excellent.
The star of the menu was definitely their famous Proper Burger, which was juicy, flavorful, and worth every bit of the hype. Duke’s has a fun, laid-back vibe that feels equally great for casual after-work drinks or just hanging out with friends on a weeknight. Despite the slow service, I left happy and satisfied, and will definitely go back.

A friend and I stopped by to have a drink and a mac and cheese. We sat at the bar and the first bartender to come over to us was a nice woman who promptly took our order and made a little small talk. When we were finished I asked nicely for a to-go box from the other bartender who was directly in front of me. I told him that he could do it whenever he got a chance because I am a server and understand the stress of the job. He proceeded to roll his eyes, wave his hands at me and turn around. A few minutes later he grabbed a to-go box (not even 2 feet from where i originally asked him) and threw it on the bar next to me. I found this extremely rude and something I would never do to a guest at my serving job. I ended up asking what I believe was a manager for my check because he was right behind me and he asked me why I didn’t ask the bartender that was rude to me for the check. I told him I didn’t want to because he was rude and weird. I ended up closing out and left.

I got the wings the first time I went to Duke’s. I have to say these are the best wings I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot of wings). The only way I can put it is that they are a hybrid between traditional wings and beef jerky. The crust is what does it for me.

Priya is absolutely amazing! She’s friendly, professional, and makes you feel welcome the moment you sit at the bar. Her drinks are perfectly balanced, and she’s always quick with service even when it’s busy. She has a great personality and really makes the experience so much better. If Priya is behind the bar, you’re guaranteed a great time!

Server was terrible! Never refilled drinks, never came back to check on us. Then adds a 20% gratuity because it was a party of 6 or more as if she did ANYTHING to serve us. Terrible
Don't know her name, she never introduced herself.

I went to Duke's as part of a party of 20. I got two amber ales. Closed out the ticket. And received the bill, after giving a 20% tip, of $50. That means that each amber ale was more than $20. Is that right?
I called the number to straighten out the issue and got a constant busy signal.
Update: I worked with Will from the restaurant, and we were able to sorry out the situation. When opening a tab, apparently the system automatically reserves a flat $50. I'm not sure anyone actually realized this previously. It was also somewhat difficult to find my tab due to the use of a virtual number assigned by Google Wallet. Will was outstanding in resolving the misunderstanding. I will definitely go back.
