We stopped at the Dumpling District located in Chinatown inside Luna Hall late at night for a snack.

The security guard for Luna Hall warmly greeted us and explained to us the setup of Luna Hall and what was available to us. The front area of Luna Hall was a bar/club and the second half was a food court with a few places to select from. Dumpling District was located at the very end and was one of the few places there that still offered food an hour before Luna Hall was closing.

We ordered the Rainbow Soup Dumplings which was their soup dumpling sampler that consisted of one of each flavor that they serve. The six dumpling flavors were pork, chicken, mala, crab meat and pork, shrimp and zucchini, and black truffle. The order took a little of time to receive but they seemed to be steamed to order as they came out very hot. Everything was pretty good. The dumplings were flavorful and pretty tasty. The crab meat and pork was my favorite. I want to mention that the Mala was a little spicy which was not indicated on the menu for those of you that are not a fan of spicy foods.

Overall, the dumplings were pretty good for a late night quick stop eatery.

Great made-to-order soup dumplings and shui mai. Each were made to order (see photo) so be prepared to wait a few minutes (well worth it) for your order. I didn’t like the scallion pancakes were deep fried instead of pan fried. Very greasy. The stand is located in a small ‘food court’ area in Chinatown full of other Asian food stands.

Inside Luna Hall DC (a small food hall in Chinatown), Dumpling District is the vendor at the very end of the hall. They sell handmade dumplings, fried rice, and more. Since their dumplings looks so good, I got one of each through the Rainbow Bowl. Each really popped, but my favorite were the truffle and the shrimp one. The hall has seating, a few outlets, and Wi-Fi.

Was kinda skeptical cause of some of the reviews but after eating here, most of the reviews are from Americans who have no idea what good Asian food tastes like and complain about texture cause they’ve never had soup dumplings before lmao.

Dumpling District impresses with its diverse menu featuring Rainbow Dumplings, Pork Dumplings, and Pierogi. The Rainbow Dumplings are vibrant, stuffed with fresh veggies. Pork Dumplings are juicy and flavorful, while the Pierogi offer a delightful Eastern European twist. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service!

I have never tasted such terrible dumplings. I don’t even know what the fillings are.

Great food! We got the rainbow dumplings, each one was better than the last. The only complaint I had was that from the street you don't know Dumpling District was in there. It's within Luna Hall! Well worth the stop and really good food!

There isn't much to say about the service or atmosphere bits of this place, the place is virtually a contactless cafeteria sharing a location with other restaurants, which is nice but doesn't add much. It was also a little confusing to know when your order was ready to be picked up because all the restaurants would use the same numbering system, so calling order 36 might not be your 36.

The spring rolls were between okay and good, nothing stuck out about them. The dumplings were not for me, I prefer my dumplings with a firm dough, and these were very squishy dumplings. I also almost couldn't tell the difference between flavors, the chicken and pork buns almost tasted the same. The dumplings sauce was not a type I've had before, no idea what was in it, but something in it made it taste like it was spoiled to me, so left that mostly alone.

If you're a fan ofVERY soft, and juicy dumplings, then this place is for you. Like I said I prefer my dumplings a little firmer, so I this is a pass for me.

Their soup dumplings are handmade and rolled. Really juicy and flavorful. We had the pork and chicken. Both were amazing but we preferred pork slightly over chicken.

Order ahead, highly recommend. Food is good, if not a little overpriced.

Home to the best soup dumplings DC has ever seen! I was a little dubious when I saw Dumpling District nestled in the back corner of Luna Hall when I first visited the food hall, but...wow. I'm so happy I decided to give it a shot. The soup dumplings are phenomenal -- they have a genuinely impressive amount of soup inside, and their soup is also absolutely packed with flavor. The skin is quite thin and has a slight chew, which makes them a wonderful eating experience, but also a mildly embarrassing test of my chopsticks skills.

Dumpling District is also one of the only places I've seen do a purely pescatarian soup dumpling; their shrimp and zucchini filling has genuinely changed my life and helped me recover from years of sadly watching as my friends devoured their pork soup dumplings without me.

While their soup dumplings are absolutely elite, their other menu offerings are a tad less exciting. I also tried their stir-fried rice cakes, which, while tasty, didn't have a ton of seasoning and honestly felt like something I could throw together in 15 minutes back home (not that there's anything wrong with homestyle cooking...it just wasn't really worth $15).

I'll absolutely be back, but will probably keep it to just the soup dumplings.

We ordered Shrimp Pork dumpling, and Pepper Beef Noodles Soup. The flavour is good for both of them. The soup comes with the noodles is my favourite.
Can be improved: the dumplings can be cooked longer, cuz I taste some powders. And the noodles are a little bit like instant noodles.
