Took the family out Friday night to Eatopia. We loved the cozy atmosphere on this cold winter night. The lighting was adequate, tables spaced nicely. There was live jazz which is a new experience for the teenagers. Best of all the food was excellent. Nicely seasoned and delicious.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Eatopia Eatery, and it was an unforgettable experience. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, assisting me with planning the event from start to finish. The service was outstanding. Food was exceptional, with each dish surpassing our expectations. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was impeccable. The Ethiopian Coffee ceremony and service was a delight.
The art collection, layout, and design of the space are absolutely stunning. What truly set the evening apart was the attention to detail and the personalized touches from the staff. They were attentive to all my guests without being intrusive, and their genuine warmth made the celebration even more memorable. Everyone had an amazing evening, all thanks to the restaurant owner and staff.
I highly recommend Eatopia Eatery for any special occasion or simply for a wonderful dining experience. They have set a high standard for hospitality and culinary excellence.

I don't want to be mean, but I'm honestly confused how this place has SUCH a high rating.
The food is decent, although it's the same quality as your average Ethiopian restaurant in DC but like 30% more expensive.
The main problem is with the service. It was a comedy of errors all night. The waitress said we could go to a table in the corner but didn't seat us, and the table still had napkins and water on it. Then we waited for 15 minutes for anyone to come over, and it took another 45 minutes for us to get any food. Basically anytime we needed something- plates, water, napkins- I had to go up to the bar and ask for it. A man who seemed like the manager even shook his head and said he would take care of us. We never saw him again, and when we left, he was sitting in another corner of the restaurant on his laptop. The bathroom soap was empty at a place where you eat with your hands.
Just an amateur operation all around. There are a lot of better Ethiopian/Eritrean places in DC for less.

Great experience here as a celiac! I asked for gluten free and they were great! We went with a party of 8 on a Monday evening. There was no rush, and the servers were friendly and attentive. 10/10 will recommend to DC friends and visitors. Just off the DC Metro green line.
Amazing!!! We got here on a Monday evening without a reservation but the kind gentleman found us a table. We got chicken sambusa for the appetizer and steak medallion entree… absolutely wonderful and so full of flavor. The espresso martini was strong and so tasty. Can’t wait to eat my tiramisu when my belly has room.
This was one of the best meals I’ve had this year.
