After reading Mark Batterson’s book In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day, Ebenezer’s became a must-see on our agenda while visiting Washington DC. Mark, I’m chasing lions!!!
Insanely good iced latte.
Delicious flat white.
They know how to do an excellent flat white for sure!
Don’t get the matcha, it is watery and tastes like mud. The cherry blossom latte was also watery and not that good. Can make better drinks at home.
Comfortable cozy and quiet. I love this coffee house. Plus they donate to a worthy cause. Homelessness. I love them!!
We enjoy the lavender lattes and mushroom turnovers. The outside tables are a great place to relax and people watch.
I ordered a hot apple cider and a pumpkin muffin - I watched the barista pump syrup into my cup and add hot water (NOT APPLE CIDER) I understand that people like to use wholesale syrups - but that is like ordering fresh orange juice and getting a tropicana - it is NOT apple cider. I am really disappointed at the opportunity to support local farmers being replaced by sugary syrups. Muffin was stale. Will not be coming back.

Ordered a hot tea with a lid that wasn’t fully secure and spilled it down my neck as I went to take a sip. I have a second degree burn now that is slowly starting to blister. I understand the importance of having a good hot beverage but please lower the temp of your water just enough so that other folks who accidentally spill their beverage don’t have to experience this. I’m in D.C for the day with my parents and now I have to walk around with a pretty painful burn. Fingers crossed it doesn’t scar.
Well aware this is DC, but a 12 oz cup of coffee should never cost $7+, and be watery on top of that. It has cute decor, but not a lot of space to sit inside.
Overall a decent experience, besides one major problem. Let's start with how the coffee was delicious and the service was quick. The workers were kind, and did their best with the influx of customers.
The environment was lovely as well.
THOUGH display baked goods were cross contaminated by nuts. They were being served to customers WITHOUT being informed! Please consider a level of mindfulness in regards to those with allergies.
That could cause tons of potential harm.
Also pay your employees more.

Compared to other coffee shops we've been too, it lacked the size/price we come to expect. We both ordered large drinks. Hers was a cappuccino and mine was an ice coffee. Her drink was smaller than a small at the other shops we've been to and my large compared to a medium. There were much bigger cups there but we were told that the sizes we got was what they came in. The drinks themselves were good but very disappointed with the size for what we paid.
