Made a special trip here just to find out they’re closed. Called the number listed and a lady said she stepped out and is not returning until 6 PM. It’s 5:07 PM. Who wants to wait almost an hour for someone to return? 1 star for poor first time experience.

I stopped by on a weekday afternoon. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. They have plenty of outdoor seating, weather permitting. The price was about what I expected. Overall, it was a great experience.

Our first time trying Eritrean food - we got the vegetarian combo and lamb. The food was piping hot, the injera delightfully spongey and sour, the perfect vehicle for the flavorful dishes. Would recommend for a comforting delicious meal!!
I’ve had Ethiopian cuisine around DC and was not impressed. I found this restaurant searching for vegan options on Google in NE. This is Eritrean cuisine so very similar to Ethiopian but I’m sure there are a few key differences. All of the food was extremely fresh and flavorful. I was thoroughly impressed. The owner was very nice and it made me feel like I had a home cooked meal right from her kitchen. I highly recommend this place! Full vegan menu even though labeled as vegetarian.
Really great dinner- we ordered all of the vegetarian options on the menu and they served everything up so we each had our own portions on one big platter. I couldn't pick a favorite, everything was so good!!

We made second visit after one last year. I don’t think they get many visitors outside the neighborhood, which is a shame bc the food is amazing and the service is so warm and welcoming. The older woman and younger man who served us is were happy to explain everything and chat. They are willing to organize the food however you want (individual or family style). My daughter brought in a big Tupperware and they filled it with shira. $60 for 5 plus carry out shira and injera. Cannot recommend it enough.

Had an amazing Eritrean breakfast with a friend! Eden, the owner, was so kind and made my birthday feel special. We had Kitcha Fitfit with Selsi, and it was very flavorful!
Plus, the Eritrean art on the walls made the vibe even better. 10/10 experience!

I stopped in briefly for a to-go veggie platter, which was an excellent choice. The collard greens and lentils were incredibly tender and flavorful! Not only that, I absolutely got my money’s worth because the portions were quite generous. Little neighborhood spots like Eden’s Kitchen deserve so much more love!
If you do decide to stop by, you’ll find parking around the backside of the restaurant or on a nearby street.
