Wonderful salads. Attended a business meeting and staff was respectful of our need to be left alone, yet came over to make sure our needs were met.

We had breakfast here 6 out of 7 days. Twice they were out of bakery. Service was quick. One afternoon we took advantage of happy hour. The fries were underwhelming and took a long time to arrive.

Located in The Mayflower Hotel, The Edgar offers a nice variety of freshly prepared foods. Had breakfast twice while guests at the hotel. Well prepared. Decent portions. Accommodating and friendly service. There were complaints about cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the in-restaurant restrooms during our stay. Definitely something that needs attention.

The shrimp and crab risotto and other food was just fair, the restaurant was noisy, and the waitress was unfriendly and a bit rude. We had hoped for a nicer experience.

The food and service was amazing. I got the brussel sprouts, fries, and wings and finished with the toffee pudding. 10/10! The only issue I ran into was my drink. The glass had a larger purple lipstick stain on it. When I pointed it out to our server, he immediately swapped it out with a clean glass. However, when that is the way the meal starts, it made me skeptical of the dishes throughout the rest of the meal. Thankfully, the manager got the drink removed from our bill. Other than that, a great experience!

Mediocre food, good drinks, slow service. Kids menu was great for my little kids: burgers, chicken strips, noodles...all with fries.

I left my belongings in a restroom but I could get it back! I appreciate your staff and guests!!

Opentable Diner

Not an exceptional experience. Water guys kept us hydrated which was about it. Better options for fine dining for sure.

During my recent visit, the Edgar Bar & Kitchen, situated within the grand Mayflower Hotel, Autograph Collection, offered an elegant dining space with refined leather seating and beautiful wood trim. The maître d' was welcoming, and my waiter was attentive in taking my order for Brioche French Toast with Applewood Smoked Bacon, a single egg, and coffee.

While the coffee and eggs were perfectly prepared, the main dish proved deeply disappointing. The first serving of French toast arrived cold and stale, suggesting it had been sitting for some time. The replacement order was only marginally better - still cool, and accompanied by overcooked bacon. Only after the manager intervened did the third attempt deliver what should have been served initially - hot, tasty French toast and properly cooked bacon. Unfortunately, this came after a 30-minute delay and two rejected plates.

For a restaurant in a prestigious hotel, this level of quality control is troubling. The initial servings suggested a kitchen practice of using pre-prepared items rather than cooking to order, falling far short of the standards one expects from an establishment of this caliber. While the ambiance and service staff met expectations, the kitchen's inconsistency and apparent reliance on non-fresh preparations make it difficult to recommend.

Food is great. Service is crap. Took 15 minutes to get a glass of water. Took another 10 minutes to get our order in. Why 25 minutes for service? Waitress and waiters all walking around with their heads up in the air or down on the floor. Not asking if we have been helped. Seeing cups that are empty. Can I help you? What kind of service does this restaurant provide? Not very good.

We ate here 3 times because of convenience as we were staying in the hotel. Every time the food was near tasteless and disappointing and while some of the staff seemed nice and helpful, the equal number that seemed annoyed to have to provide service made it a negative experience.
