I am a repeat customer not for the great margaritas and the fantastic tacos and nachos but for the phenomenal service we receive from Mackenzie. The drinks and food are great here. Thank you Mackenzie!

This place is the perfect fit for Navy Yard’s waterfront. The service is quick and all the menu items I tried were great. I really like to sit outside with the waterfront view, but the indoor dining area looks cute, too.

Came in here to have a cocktail after friends couldn’t decided where to go. Classic Wednesday drama! Ended up getting the frozen seasonal cocktails and they didn’t disappoint. The service was even better. Please ask for Greg if you come in.

Tacos were amazing but $7 per toco is insanity!! They got gold inside of it? Lower that to like 3 or 4.

A Hidden Gem in Navy Yard – El Rey Never Disappoints!

El Rey in Navy Yard is hands down one of my favorite spots in DC! From the moment you walk in, the vibrant atmosphere, colorful decor, and friendly staff make you feel like you’re in for something special — and they deliver every time.

The tacos are incredible — fresh, flavorful, and packed with bold, authentic taste. The carne asada and al pastor are must-tries, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with any option. Their chips and guacamole are the perfect starter, and the fried elote is out of this world.

If you’re into cocktails, the margaritas are top-notch — balanced, not too sweet, and made with quality tequila. They also have a great selection of beers and fun frozen drinks that are perfect for hot DC days.

The outdoor seating is ideal for people-watching and enjoying the energy of the Navy Yard neighborhood. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite before a Nats game or meeting friends for a relaxed dinner, El Rey is the kind of place that always hits the spot.

Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area — great food, fun vibes, and consistently excellent service. I’ll definitely be back (again and again)!

It was my first time going to this taco place after the Nats game and really loved the food, the customer service everyone had, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Highly recommend the guac and sweet potato tacos.

Though I feel terribly for the 2 bartenders doing the work of 5, and I know it’s a holiday and Nats game, the company should have prepared better. Could be a great place if properly staffed.
