Good place but I've had better Banger's-and-Mash. The gravy seemed from a can and the mash was just okay. The wee-pie flight was very good. Service was better than expected based on some other reviews. Overall a good experience, but will likely try something different if I'm in the area again.

I ordered the Rueben sandwich. It was bland, not a lot of dressing or sauerkraut. Husband had steak and mushroom pie and enjoyed it. The bread pudding was good and a large piece. The cheesecake was very dense. More like a cheesecake pie with chocolate syrup drizzled all over it.

Initally settled us into a table in the sun on the patio with a waiter that told us not to expect any service because he had lots of tables. We moved to another table on our own and had a great waitress! The food was good. It was happy hour so the drinks were discounted. Our friend was celebrating her birthday and they brought her a dessert and a song! A very nice dinner, indeed.
The food was good the slum dog was very different but very flavorful in a good way. If you like hot dogs definitely give it a try. I love roasted brussel sprouts and this place didnt disappoint they were crispy, salty, and sweet. The salmon and mashed potatoes was cooked perfectly for me. The mashed potatoes do have onion strings in them. It was unexpected but they were good. Lastly the bread pudding was okay I preferred it to be a bit warmer than it was but other than that it was delicious. The service was good and the atmosphere was a tiny bit noisy due to families with children. But it was bearable overall I would go here again.

I saw lots of recent negative reviews, which made me nervous. But we showed up and - despite telling people in line that there was a 40-60 minute wait, they saw our reservation and sat us immediately. The beginning of a perfect evening. The server was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He took our orders and the food came out in 10-15 minutes. I got the "flight of pot pies" and holy blankity blank was it good! I thought the beef & mushroom would be the one I didn't like - and it turned out to be my favorite. All four of those mini pot pies were flavored so perfectly. Order a salad and the pot pie flight and you'll be full - for about twenty bucks! Location? Great. Interior/mood? Great. Service? Great. Cons? The fries my dad got, while well seasoned, weren't the freshest. That's literally the worst thing I can say about our experience last night. Will 100% go back.

The atmosphere is not my scene. It's loud, crowded, and there are televisions everywhere. Too chaotic to enjoy a meal. I had the fish & chips, which was well-cooked, but the tartar sauce had almost a chipotle kick to it, which wasn't satisfying.I'd really have to try other dishes to say more about the food, but I don't think I will be ready to go back anytime soon!

Due to a business trip I had some dinner in the restaurant. The staff is friendly and mindful … with a great service. My try was the Impossible Burger. I would definitely recommend the burger. Also the customer service is great. Next time at DC, I will come back.A year later I came back and can recommend again the Elephant & Castle. This time I chose Fish and Chips and enjoyed the food.
