We used Open Table to get a reservation before going to a concert nearby. We got there and we were the only couple in the restaurant. Didn't really need a reservation. Service was okay and food was nothing to write home about. Wine selection was poor by the glass. They serve Detriot style pizza - I've had better. Not slamming the place, but very average experience.

Jamila is the best and always takes great care of me every time I visit. She is the main reason I visit the Navy Yard location.

They have roaches. I saw one crawling while I was picking up. One of the serves was using a walker and rested my pizza on her walker before serving it to me which is unhygienic.. just wait for someone else to get it. You bathe, wake up, and use the rest room with that same walker. Now my pizza is resting on it.

As someone who frequents the area, I can confidently say Emmy Squared is one of Shaw-Howard’s best-kept secrets. We ordered the classic pizza—half pepperoni, half cheese—and were absolutely blown away. The dough was crisp yet airy, with toppings that struck the perfect balance of flavor and proportion. I was blown away at a dish I’d think would feel so heavy to eat was light and airy! It’s the kind of pizza that’s great for sharing, but honestly? You could easily devour a whole one solo if you’re hungry enough.

We wrapped up our meal with the brownie skillet, and wow. The gooey chocolate, paired with ice cream and a touch of sea salt, was the ultimate savory-sweet finale. It’s indulgent without being over-the-top, and absolutely worth saving room for.

A special shoutout to Roy, the general manager, who made our experience even better. His passion for the food and genuine care for every guest is palpable. He described each dish with such enthusiasm that I was salivating before the food even hit the table.

I can’t recommend Emmy Squared highly enough. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot deserves a place on your must-try list. I’ll definitely be back—frequently.

Came here for Sunday brunch—place was pretty empty but the staff were friendly and on top of making sure we were taken care of.

I ordered the Chicken Parm Sandwich which was pretty good!

Overall, not much else to say. I would come here again if it was chosen for a group meal.

The Detroit Style pizza was really delicious. The location is very close to the 930 club so a great place to grab dinner before a show.

Stopped by for quick lunch in June with my wife. Pizza was average at best, nothing great - Manager told us we could add toppings for free, since he was waiting tables that day, but then made me paid $3 for two tiny slices of bell peppers - Very expensive bell peppers, or maybe it was for the labor of slicing them, not sure. I would not recommend that place.

Very mixed feelings here... The Detroit style pizza was really good and the service was pleasant but slow and not very engaged. When we arrived, there was one other customer but about 10 people waiting on the way of the bar and entrance for carry-out. One we finally got menus and a drink, things got better. The pizza was good! I look forward to going back, it seems like this was an anomaly and the place has huge potential. (Our pizza was overdone but we like it that way! The manager immediately offered to make a new one but we refused.)

The very DC pizza for Gluten free folks! The crust is gorgeous and the manager asked about any special precautions I may need.
