Popped in for dinner recently and immediately felt like we'd made a mistake. The dining room, unchanged from the space's Kyirisan days (aside from the peeling wallpaper and burned out Edison bulbs in the fancy fixtures), was empty. Two staffers shuffling about seemed to be mostly there to carry food from the kitchen to the crowd of delivery drivers waiting by the door. We eventually ordered but this just did not stand up as a dining in experience. Maybe it's better staffed on weekends (we went on a Tuesday) but there was just zero thought about the customer experience. The food was fine when it came, but the Detroit style pieces at Slice Joint are far better. Our server also forgot to put in an item and then informed us about what had become fairly obvious some 20 minutes later. Just a sad experience overall, but probably fine if you're just doing takeout. Which is what the restaurant should probably be doing itself.

Last night I experienced, what was probably in my top three, worst customer service/dining experiences here in DC. It was around 8pm on a Sunday when my girlfriend and I arrived to grab some dinner. We were met with a crowd of Uber Eats/Doordash drivers blocking the already small waiting area. The host initially ignored us however, after making her third trip back from the kitchen she asked me if we were picking up or dining in. I asked for a table for two. She said okay, and immediately ran back to the kitchen to grab more to-go orders. We stood in the waiting area for ten minutes watching a plethora of drivers and more walk-ins cram their way into the doorway. That's when I noticed that a couple who arrived after us, decided to seat themselves in the dining area, and were immediately approached by a server. So there are really three things that sum up this blunder:1. If you're going to offer delivery service/mobile orders then you should have a separate area and a separate person assigned to deal with those orders. The overflow between mobile orders and walk in customers was absurd. This is not solely on the blame of the host (though damn it hurt to just be completely and blatantly ignored) but poor management for lack of appropriate staffing.2.Also worth nothing is that it was clearly visible from the entrance that staff wasn't keeping up with cleaning the tables or the orders. Less tables cleaned, less seating, better pizza, papa johns.3. We ended up leaving after waiting ten minutes of waiting and walked down the block to Andy's, where I was immediately served and scored three slices of pizza and a coke for $8. That value kicks this place's teeth in.

Nice place with good food options including gluten free pizza. Detroit style with nice crunchy crust. Good service even held our left overs until after a nearby concert to pick up. Beer selection of non-ipas can use some work, something dark would be nice. Cocktail options were good.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free

We got gluten free dough for two pizzas, the mushroom and margherita pizza. My god these were good. I personally do not go for gluten free items, but my friend with me could not handle gluten. We both agreed that this was the best gluten free dough on a pizza we'd ever had. Really did not expect it.

Lets start with the food. The pizza and wings were good. However, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall, the bathrooms were ABSOLUTELY FILTHY (you cant even wash your hands comfortably due to the strange residue on the faucet, doorknob, and soap pump), and most of the staff were rude. Especially the waiter with the short dreadlocks/braids. He never introduced himself and we had to look for him several times to get basic service items such as water, straws and our check. One time after we grabbed him for more water, he said he was too busy in the back playing candy crush to attend to us. The same waiter tried to pressure me and my sister to finish our pizza, likely so he didnt need to get us a box. Also, an unseen member of their staff childishly and rather loudly mocked me and my sister while were laughing. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had in DC and I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Please wash your tables. My table was so sticky that the flatware stuck to it. I checked other tables and they were also sticky. No refills on the Diet Cokes? Then at least serve the beverage in a larger glass. Diet Coke is not a cocktail and deserves a larger glass if there aren't any refills. Pizza was great.

Troy was my favorite. These 5 stars are for him and the great food. The soundtrack made for a very fun environment as well.

Was excited to try a gluten free Detroit / thick crust pizza place, but the delivered Colony pizza I got was completely inedible. The crust tasted like raw dough/didn't seem cooked all the way through.... And was very dense as well. I assume this is due to it being gluten free and unable to rise well, but it by no stretch tasted like the real thing, and in general, was still very thin for "Detroit" style pizza. The pizza was also drenched in oil from the cheese and pepperoni, which made the crust even more soggy. Despite all this and it being inedible, was told it couldn't be refunded.. at $25 for 6 small slices, I'd look elsewhere for decent GF

Yummy pizza! I love pizza and usually go for New York style. Good to mix it up every once in a while with this deep dish. I had the Roni Supreme and enjoyed it. Could have used a few more ronis considering it’s called supreme but tasty anyway!
