A Culinary Masterpiece at Enigma on U Street

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Enigma on U Street in Washington, DC, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite the late hour, Chef Dennis Clark crafted a dish that left a lasting impression on my palate.

The standout of the evening was the mussels, which were served in a remarkable spicy sweet sauce that perfectly balanced heat and sweetness. The flavors were bold yet harmonious, with the sauce enhancing the natural brininess of the mussels rather than overpowering it. Every bite was a revelation, showcasing Chef Clark’s exceptional skill and creativity in the kitchen.

Me and my bestie went here for a dinner date a couple weeks ago and baby let me tell you the food was AHHHHHMAZING!!! chefs kiss! I ordered the "sea bass" although it was called something else I believe it starts with an F? Lol don't get me to lying but I have a picture below of it posted. I would come back for the vibes and this 🐟 HONEY! It was a Friday and pretty slow but apparently Sunday brunch is pretty lit so I'll have to come check it out. The drinks we chose weeniyhe best but that could have just been those particular drinks which was similar to an old fashioned. I still gave five stars!

My boyfriend to DC for a getaway for just us two for my birthday. We found this place after being referred to by a family member. It was an experience to remember! Everything was delicious ! The scallops, the pork belly and the duck (first time trying) was amazing! Our martinis were refreshing as well. The staff and chef were so friendly and amazing and took care of us very well. Can’t beat that type of service. We will definitely be coming back and sharing with others of this amazing place.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Enigma in DC! The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure every detail was perfect. We didn’t get to try the food but my next visit we will knowing that there’s some extra entrées that’s not on the menu. If you’re going for cocktails be sure to see Alex when you go. Alex cocktails were delicious, he’s passionate and knowledgeable about what he provides to each customer.

Alex the bartender made me the best drinks I’ve had in a brick. Like this man knows his stuff. Mixology still exist!!

Overall, top notch customer service, everything was superb. The food is exceptional! My personal favorites are Blackened Salmon, Red Snapper and Seared Scallops all cooked to perfection!
Enigma is an excellent restaurant, friendly staff, comfortable ambiance, delicious variety of food on the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Enigma Restaurant and Lounge on 1330 U Street NW is an absolute gem! My friends and I had an amazing time this past Saturday. The food was exceptional, the service top-notch, and the music set the perfect vibe. The entire atmosphere was fantastic, making for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!

I made a reservation on March 17, 2024 for May 28th for 8 people in the private dining room. This was made via email confirmation by a staff member who followed up on April 3 and offered a set menu as well. On May 20th, I emailed back to confirm the reservation, no answer, emailed on May 21st, no answer. Decided to call on May 22 and was told their are closed, there is no reservation and to reschedule my reservation and a round of drinks on the house. Unfortunately, I can not reschedule my birthday nor do I drink, so my birthday dinner was ruined. I was looking forward to trying this new DC spot but me and my guests will never dine here after this experience.

Make it make sense, has issue with none Ethiopian black people. Told bouncer to tell my friend shorts weren't allowed when clearly others were wearing shorts.
