Lots of options, we got the family vegetarian platter, and also the sambusas. Everything was very good. And the workers were all very warm and friendly. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-11

DC is home to so many Ethiopian restaurants, it can be hard to choose where to go. Family Ethiopian is definitely a great choice. Their vegan family platter is super filling. Sambucas are top notch. I recommend coming here if you want a casual, not too pricey, solid Ethiopian meal.

Overal it was a decent experience, no bells and whistles...just a place to grab a quick lunch and dash. I ordered the assorted mix vegetable platter and spaghetti, everything was good.
