Fat Fish is a fantastic spot for fresh seafood and delicious flavors! The atmosphere is inviting, with a cozy yet modern vibe that makes it perfect for a casual meal or a special night out. The menu offers a great selection of sushi, sashimi, and other seafood dishes, all prepared with high-quality ingredients.
The highlight for me was the Poke Burrito Roll—a perfect fusion of fresh poke flavors wrapped in a satisfying roll. The combination of fresh fish, rice, and toppings made it both flavorful and filling. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and attentive.
Prices are reasonable for the quality, and the presentation of the dishes is top-notch. Whether you're a sushi lover or just looking for a great seafood experience, Fat Fish is definitely worth checking out.

Fat Fish was recommended by my co-workers several months ago and it’s never disappointed.
I’ve seen mixed reviews and I will say that I like Fat Fish. I’ve had the poke bowl and sushi, spring rolls. The black truffle crab cake is a winner!
We opted to place a large group order and for the most part everyone enjoyed their selections.
The sushi and bowls had a fresh taste.
I ordered the volcano roll with shrimp tempura, baked crab salad and avocado and it was great. The spring rolls were tasty and the poke bowls, especially the salmon looked and tasted delicious!
A few of colleagues liked their orders so much they mention wanting to order from Fat Fish again tomorrow.
I would like to dine in just to experience it, but for takeout/delivery, it worked well.
We did a large Uber Eats order so that everyone could pay for their own order directly, which worked well.
I definitely would recommend giving Fat Fish a try. There is one location @ District Wharf and one in Virginia.
If you’re in the mood for poke and/or sushi, check out Fat Fish.

This is my favorite place to get lunch. I’ve been coming here at least once a week for months now and the food is always fresh, tasty, and correct. The employees are all super friendly and helpful. 10/10 no notes

Got takeout here. You have to order at the screens.
The poke bowl was fresh, delicious, and packed with interesting flavor and ingredients.
I see they listened to feedback and increased portion sizes!
The food here is very good! 👍

We waited 40 MINUTES for a poke bowl and one sushi roll and they almost got the poke bowl wrong after we paid extra to specialize the order (I had to speak up and remind him and he took time to reread the check). Ambiance isn’t great (you have to wait in front of the counter for your order) and food was just okay. I wanted a refund after about 20 min, but they were so understaffed they didn’t even have time to refill the water let alone go to the computer and process a return. I probably would’ve had to wait until the end of the night until someone was available.
To the management, it’s amazing you’re still open with how slow you are to complete orders and if you keep going this way you won’t be for much longer. For Oktoberfest weekend, you staffed ONE person to complete orders on a Saturday night. It seems like the manager (tall guy who moved like a snail, i.e. excruciatingly slow) had to start making orders because (he was preparing food without apron or hair covering) he kept checking the menu and slowing down the other guy with questions since he didn’t know how to make the orders (other guy was hauling a** so you should pay him more). I timed the tall guy and it took him 25-30 minutes to prepare 3 bento boxes and he wasn’t even done with the order. Staff were so backlogged I felt inclined to jump behind the counter and help because I was so hungry and just wanted my food.
Your #1 problem other than understaffing is you have 1000 items on the menu that no one has fully memorized (because it’s too much) and are intricate to prepare. I’m convinced no one who owns this place has ever been present for a shift or pitched in for a busy shift. You’re doing bento boxes with 6 different items that require 6 different forms of prep, like 7 poke bowls, a bunch of sushi rolls, froyo with toppings, those fish shaped cakes (which no one ordered). Stop punishing your staff and your customers for no reason and get it together. Go study a chipotle.

The guy at the counter pointed at the screen and said to order from the screen and walked away. No one else in the store. They had no fish cones left, and no example pictures on the menu. Go somewhere else for ice cream. This place doesn’t want your business.

Spicy tuna poke bowl was great! Good size portion with lots of extras to add... or not. Ordered online and it was done before the quoted time even though they were BUSY!

We've been meaning to come to this place forever. The sushi was pricey for the portion sizes you get; a 6-piece basic roll was $12, and the sushi burrito was $18. We shared an ice cream, so our total came to nearly $50 with tip. Crazy for a light lunch for two!
HOWEVER, the sushi was fresh and delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Both guys working the counter welcomed us when we came in and were smiling/joking around, which makes the atmosphere cheery. They even asked if we wanted to come back for our ice cream after we finished our lunch, which was super nice. The cinnamon ice cream in the fish cone was delicious and we will be back for that, but will probably skip the sushi next time.

The food is pretty good, but it’s a little pricy. But then again it’s located on the wharf, so you kinda expect that. I ordered a sushi bento and I thought it everything was great! I put the poke and seaweed salad on the mixed greens and dipped my shrimp tempura in the dressing. My only gripe is that the photo on the menu is a little misleading since there are only six pieces of sushi included in the sushi bento.
For those who are comparing this to supermarket sushi, which supermarket are you going to? One in Tokyo? I’ve had sushi from Wegmans and Whole Foods within the past two months and both experiences are beyond gross and not cheaper.
