I could give zero stars, I would. Came in to pick up a DoorDash order and the bartender — Cody — couldn’t have been more rude or checked out. He had his headphones in the entire time and didn’t even take them out to speak to me. Just mumbled “at the front,” so I assumed the order was ready and went to grab it. As soon as I touched the bag, he snapped, got pissed, and then refused to give me the food. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. If this is how they treat people helping deliver their food, I can only imagine how they treat paying customers. Avoid if you value basic decency.

Ordered burnt ends and moist brisket. They basically cut the top of the bark off on the brisket I ordered to make my burnt ends. Left me with white unrendered fat on top of my brisket. That's not how the works! Scam!

We’ve been here a number of times and have always had a great meal. The ribs and pulled pork are always fall-off-the-bone delicious and flavorful. The staff are friendly and relaxed. Absolutely our go-to place for BBQ in DC.

Had a really uncomfortable experience picking up an order today. A man with a long beard staff or manager, not sure was extremely rude and short with me for no reason. His tone was aggressive the moment I walked in, like I was an inconvenience just for showing up. I tried to stay polite, but it honestly felt personal.
I can’t say for sure what his problem was, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it had something to do with how I look, I’m Latino. He didn’t treat anyone else around the same way. If that’s how customers get treated here based on appearance, that’s a serious problem.
I came in for some BBQ, not to be disrespected. Do better.

Our group loved the burnt ends, ABT jalapeño poppers, pulled pork, sliced brisket sandwich, ribs, potato salad…everything was delicious. We especially loved PJ. I’d ask for bigger BBQ and mustard sauce containers, but that’s my only wish.
I initially tried Fat Pete's BBQ from a food truck. The food truck BBQ was awesome. On this Thursday evening, I stopped by for a to-go combo and it must have been an off day.
I had the 2-meat combo with sliced brisket and spare ribs. Both were a bit dried out as if they were under heat lamps too long. There was a white condiment in the bag that tasted like oil and paste. It looked like it was trying to be horseradish. It was expired or rancid and made me very nauseated when I tasted it. The side of coleslaw also tasted a bit old. I chose collard greens as a side and they were actually decent. I didn't get any BBQ sauce on the meat or on the side. I am not sure if I needed to ask for it.
I ordered an extra side of Fried Green Tomatoes and they were unimpressive too. Both the tomatoes and the meat could have used a little salt.
The service was super nice and I loved the vibe of the restaurant. It looks like a fun place to catch a sports game as they had televisions on both levels.
As for me, I'm looking forward to finding that food truck again.

Will never eat there again. Ate there, used my visa credit card to pay and 24 hours later, had 5 charges on my card totaling $3900 from a store in Norfolk, Virginia that I didn't charge. Someone in that restaurant stole my CC info. I know this because I hadn't used my CC in over 2 months.
