GATSBY is the perfect mix of classic charm and lively energy. As soon as you walk in, the stylish décor and great music draw you in. I really enjoyed my time there with friends. Will definitely be back.

The Gatsby in DC had great drinks thanks to the excellent bartender, Marissa who impressed me with her professionalism despite the clear understaffing. Unfortunately, the menu was disappointing—limited options, a strange deep-fried Monte Cristo, and forgettable food overall. The staff’s composure was admirable, but I’d only recommend it for the bar, not the food.

I came in for happy hour. I was seated quickly and handed the standard menu. I had to ask the server for the happy hour menu. The Smashburger was $22 on the regular menu and $15 on the happy hour menu.
I ordered the Gatsby lager, a smash burger, and a single devilled egg. I tried to ask for salad instead of fries, but the server either couldn't understand what I was asking or they don't substitute fries for tossed salad. She took my menu, stared at it, and said "It comes with fries". I gave up.
The beer arrived at the same time as my food. They set it down nicely. The presentation was great! Portions were generous. I liked the plates.
Unfortunately, everything was very bland. The burger needed seasoning. Any seasoning. It was tender and juicy but no flavor. The egg had no spice at all. The fries looked like they were going to be good... they were okay, and probably the best food I received. There was pitifully little ketchup for the amount of fries on the plate. There was no salt or pepper on the table, and I didn't ask for any. I probably should have.
I couldn't finish my meal (I was full), pushed it away, and waited. For about 10-15 minutes. The place was not busy. I finally got up and went to ask for my check.
I don't think I'd come back and pay full price for the food I tried this time.
The decor was pretty cool. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are on the 2nd floor, up some stairs. I'm not sure if there would be a way for people with mobility issues to get to them.
Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms seemed inaccessible as they required walking up stairs.

When you make a table reservation for 9 pm they can just cancel your reservation due to weather. Never had the chance to eat at this restaurant and probably never will after the way I was treated. I do not live close to this restaurant and for me to travel an hour away and get turned away was absolutely ridiculous!
