I returned to GCDC after several years and it didn't live up to my memory. The bread, although advertised as sourdough, tasted stale and plain. The ingredients inside the bread were similarly cheap and underwhelming. I remembered this place being much better, but I guess I was a dumb college student. I will endeavor to find melted cheese sandwiches elsewhere.

Great atmosphere and vibe, Roscoe at the counter was super kind, funny and pleasant- really helped my day start off right! While the portions are on the smaller side, it was still a great grilled cheese!!

Phenomenal food. I loved every bite.

S/O to Rosco for his amazing customer service. Goes a long way in the community.

Also located right by the White House avenue if you or your family wants to grab and go to sit and eat lunch in Lafayette Park.

Came for the gluten free grilled cheese, left with that and gluten free Mac and cheese. Both were awesome. Ended up leaving with leftovers and a really good gluten free cookie.

Amazing service and food overall. One of my friends who has celiacs also loved it and said it was the best gluten free bread she’s had. It looks very similar to regular bread and also still tastes really good according to her.

Food was so good although the Mac and cheese was just a tad dry. Service was nice, but we watched 1 lady make all of the food, while 2 guys stood at the front of the restaurant and talk the whole time. Nice atmosphere and it was probably the best food we had the whole time we were in DC.
