This place is beautiful.
I don't know what they actually do here. Staff is rarely seen inside. The "Clean team" is run out of this office, but literally the staff never steps outside their office to see the same broken glass literally RIGHT OUTSIDE THEIR OFFICE for months, nasty gunk on the curb on K street for 6 months, or notice that the bushes on the canal grow over the path for months at a time so people can barely run on the path, or notice that fumes are coming out of garage into canal public eating spaces. It's like they don't actually walk the areas they are aiming to "improve". Or maybe they just want to improve (make $$) for the businesses. Figures.

We had breakfast here twice and watched the football. Lovely food and great staff. Good atmosphere too.
I just found you! What a wonderful location for an Irish pub. The staff is so warm and welcomed us heartily. The setting is divine. I loved all the woodwork and the massive chandeliers. There's plenty of room with bars upstairs and down ... and the food is fantastic! Half of our group had the burgers and highly recommended them for future visits. The other half of us had the grilled salmon with balsamic dressing topped salad. The salmon was cooked to perfection and we savored every bite. Hurry up and visit because SADLY they will be closing within a month or two. I am sick about it!! ?
On my recent visit to the area, we chose to see the pub revered by the locals as the standard. We were seated quickly, but that we the end of the positive experience. Our waiter was clearly overwhelmed by something, it just want clear what. He was unable to bring four drinks to the table in less than three trips. And the third one only after a reminder. I had asked for a glass for my domestic beer, ( none on tap, only trendy swill, popular with the college crowd I imagine) and received a warm glass. We ordered four items from the menu. This is important, because the waiter appeared both unsure of the supplies in the kitchen, and of what meals we spoke of. We thought that perhaps it was his first night as a server. That would have been an acceptable explanation. But no... My wife's brisket Mac and cheese ENTREE came out with burned pieces of brisket layered on top of the macaroni, in a cast iron dish that would have better suited for an escargot appetizer. I actually asked if this was the entree size, and was told by our wide eyes server, "yes...I think..". My daughter got a side order of mashed potatoes, despite having ordered French fries. My son received his shepherd's pie, which was also quite small for $18, and had the consistency of soup. I sent the Mac and cheese meal back untouched. I tried the shepherd's pie myself to be sure this wasn't the immature pallet of a teenager. But he was right. I sent that back as well. And then the salad arrived. Yes, last. The menu indicated two sizes, and we choose the large. It came in a bowl best suited for cereal. By now we were ready to quit. The silver lining for this place was the mature female manager who, without request, struck everything except the drinks and the shepherd's pie from the bill. (Which was fair as my son had continued to inhale the pie as a 15 year old boy would.) This was not simply a failure on the part of the waiter, but the cooks as well. Pub food shouldn't be fancy. It shouldn't be difficult to source. But it should be common, served in hearty portions, unburned, and generally in order; appetizer first, then dinner. And at a rate of more one plate at a time. Management solves these problems. No one person was to blame here.
first time in the bar and it was a lovely bar , barman was friendly but we believe its closing down
Great food great people, too bad they are closing down.
I went here after my date cancelled because this girl not going let something like that get me down. Well, I found a little corner of the bar and thought it would be a night of me, myself, and I. Well first off, the server Erika was an absolute delight. And then a young couple, he a professional musician and she a budding therapist stopped to share one drink and then leave.. It was her birthday so I bought her a drink. And then an Irish duo, Andreas and Milo came and started playing fun songs, We danced and talked and laughed. The professional musician played a couple of songs using Milo's Guitar, and 3 hours later, the young couple left. Thank you all for creating a fun memory.
Great service in a smart classic bar

On a recent visit for the holidays we had delicious food! Our choices were the chicken curry and grilled shrimp. Both were absolutely wonderful. The place was quite busy as it was a Saturday night and wait staff seemed to be extremely busy, too! What made our experience fun was meeting some young RAF officers from England! So happy to share our custom of “Thanking Them For Their Service.”Food and drink was what to be expected at an updated Irish Pub. Would definitely come back? advice...be open to meeting & talking to friendly dinner near you!
The ambiance was great although authentic Irish music would have made it even better. Our waiter was distinctly inattentive even though he doted on other tables. The Reuben was very average. Not loaded and a little stringy. They can't always know that so i might have just been unlucky. Keep your expectations modest and you'll be fine.
If you're looking for pint of Guinness that is poured the correct way, this is the place...delicious.
We loved this bar, its so perfectly American! We love a long bar to sit at and relax, its has that and great food, great drinks, funny servers and in a great location. We came here loads even though we were staying no where near, it was a great find. We had lunch a couple of times but mainly for drinks, we met a couple groups of friends here and there all really enjoyed it too. The wings and asparagus are delicious as are the onion rings and just everything we had was good. Lovely long bar, we met other travellers and some locals, all good fun. The servers were funny, first time was a very professional guy that never saw us without a drink, then we had an Irish girl that had only been out there a few months, she was friendly but not as hot on service, then we had a young guy, he told us about another bar locally and an Ice cream shop, both great recommendations!!! He was so funny, he kept getting everyones food and drinks muddled, it was so funny! Really great bar, there is another upstairs but we never went up there.
This pub is a really interesting building. It has a great deal of tradition and old time style. We had some drinks here at the end of a long day. There’s an extensive whisky collection. The World Series was on a big screen.
