Our experience was really bad we had an amazing lobster risotto the tuna tartar was not great also we order a ribeye and it came totally raw also the filet mignon was with lobster and they brought it with Oscar crab on top really disappointed because last time we came it was magnificent the quality has gone down
we didn't get sat until 45 minutes after my reservation and it took a while for the server to come back around to our table. however, it was a pretty busy evening.
Over 30 minute wait with reservations. Also did our appetizers were never put in. I believe the issue was the busy Valentine's Day weekend. The food was delicious. Will try again during a less busy time.
Nice restaurant with a good location and plenty of seating. The express lunch is a well priced option that lets you try the most hyped dishes. The service was good. Can't go wrong with the wellington, but the risotto can be skipped. The sticky toffee pudding was on the sweeter side and we have had better in other DC restaurants.

Impressive dining spot with an awesome waterfront location and a lush, stylish interior. Portions are large, the food is well executed, and the Gordon Ramsay touch is clear throughout. A great place for a special occasion meal in DC.

I finally made it to Hell's Kitchen on the Wharf and what a treat! The restaurant is beautiful inside. The view was breathtaking from our table by the window. The food was scrumptious and the service was impeccable. Jack took such good care of us throughout the evening recommending the best food and drink pairings as well as going above and beyond to accomadate our requests. The food was great but it was the service that made the evening special. If you want an elevated dining experience in DC, I highly recommend Hell's Kitchen on the Wharf.

The food is trash. Do not waste your money here. It was $500 for two people and we had to send our plates back. It’s definitely not worth the hype. I love Gordon Ramsey but this place is trash.

First time experience. Excellent value at $70 for these meals. Drink pairing was perfect. Three easy to drink wines. Wait staff were very polite and friendly.
Recommended dishes: Petite Beef Wellington, Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream, Caesar Salad with Croutons
It was okay. I suppose I'm just really underwhelmed. The view was pretty, our server Tanya was so sweet. Everything looked nice, but taste wise the Beef Wellington was nothing special and the Braised Short Ribs tasted like a roast but drier. There is a 20% service charge which is wild imo. We were in and out within 45 minutes on a Monday Night. I'm glad we finally experienced Hells Kitchen, but we sadly won't be back.

Dining at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen at the Wharf was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The restaurant is extremely fancy, and from the moment you walk in, you truly feel taken care of. The service is impeccable — attentive, professional, and seamless throughout the entire meal.
The food presentation is stunning, and every dish is served with so much attention to detail. We tried the lobster risotto, which was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The prime bone-in ribeye was cooked to perfection, the salmon was excellent, and even the mocktails were thoughtfully crafted and refreshing. To end the meal, the sticky toffee pudding was outstanding and easily a highlight.
Overall, everything about this experience — the food, the service, the presentation, and the atmosphere — was excellent. It’s a perfect spot for a special occasion or a memorable night out, and it absolutely lives up to the hype.

What an experience! Came here for a birthday dinner reservation. Location of the restaurant, the atmosphere, and the service was fantastic.
Notes on food:
Octopus - OMG so good! Perfectly charred and the flavors were nothing I’ve ever tasted before. Def recommend.
Lobster Risotto - would’ve liked it better if it was warmer but came out to the table luke-warm. Perfect cook on that lobster and risotto though and the sauce was creamy and flavorful.
Oyster Rockefeller - it’s pretty basic. But still, cooked to perfection. Just very basic, boring, nothing special.
Beef Wellington - cooked to perfection! Steak was buttery soft, the puff pastry was perfectly flaky. Melted in my mouth! The potato puree was ok.
42oz Ribeye - asked for medium and got almost a medium-well finish. The edges of the steak were def on the well side. The steak wasn’t very flavorful and more tough and not as marbled as I expected a $92 steak to be.
Short ribs - the star of the entrees! Wow! Melted in your mouth, that potato was cooked to perfection. Also the presentation was gorgeous!
Pumpkin soup - this was for the vegetarian in our party. Noticed there weren’t too many options so he opted for the soup and WOW they poured it table side so the presentation was spectacular and he said the soup was very flavorful.
Mac & cheese - not sure why type of pasta noodles they used but my god the texture of that Mac is insanely perfect for a baked Mac and cheese. Loved that the prosciutto was fried into crispy bits which added a salty crunch to the dish. Cheese pull went crazy, it was a really good Mac & cheese.
Brussel sprouts - we asked for no cilantro on it and they accommodated us. Charred to perfection and that sweet chili oil sauce they tossed it in is to die for. Only complaint was we needed more!
Potato gratin - it was a basic gratin. Didn’t like that a layer of potato got stuck to the bottom of the hot pan but besides that, it was your average gratin.
Chocolate brownie dessert - idk this one was the most disappointing. The brownie I think was supposed to be crunchy? But it was hard. Came with chocolate ice cream. Honestly, I’ve had better chocolatey desserts at a chain restaurant for half the cost so big thumbs down for this one. Would not recommend.
Sticky toffee pudding - the hype on this was too much because honestly people always talk about this like it’s the best dessert they’ve ever had but I wasn’t all that impressed with it. I’m a huge dessert person and this was just OK. I’ve definitely had better bread puddings before. I’d try it for the gimmick but I probably wouldn’t order this again.
Apple fritter cheesecake - now THIS is a dessert! This was def more elevated than the other 2 desserts we tried. Absolutely scrumptious with a hint of sea salt sprinkled on top to enhance all the delicate flavors of the apple and the creamy cheesecake. Highly recommend ordering this over that chocolate brownie, maybe even the sticky toffee pudding.
Shoutout to the service staff, they gave us excellent service! My only small gripe was the wait time between the starters and our main entrees seemed a bit long, and a few of the food items were subpar but I knew walking into this that it was a brand name gimmick so I was prepared for that. Honestly, I’d say 75% of our food experience was excellent so I understand the hype.
Are there better restaurants you could try for the price point? Definitely.
But if you’re a Gordon Ramsey fan and you’ve always wanted to try Hell’s Kitchen you won’t be disappointed as long as you order the right items.

I was very excited to come here and finally get the wellington after having seen it made so many times on the show. Left with one of the more underwhelming meals I have ever paid for. $74 for a bland piece of filet wrapped in even more bland puff pastry. This can't be what Gordon is famous for. And the side of Mac n cheese was one scoop of Mac n cheese for $17. Tasted good, but the portion did not match the price. Was disappointed I chose to come here for dinner.

Very disappointing. Waste of money. It's a tourist trap. Bad food for a lot of money.
I went for a dinner with my girlfriend on January 1st. We both ordered appetizers, main courses, glass of wine and a beer.
First of all, appetizers were brought way too early, the waiter didnt had a chance to bring our drinks yet. We didn't want to eat without drinks, so food was getting cold, while we wait for the drinks. Then, before we finished the apps, main courses were brought! So then, while we were finishing the appetizers, the main courses are sitting at the table and getting cold. I have never experienced anything like that in any restaurant before. The timing is way off.
Secondly, the food quality was below par. My octopus appetizer was overdone. It tough to cut, and it was covered in pepper. Way over seasoned! I couldn't taste anything but pepper. My girlfriend had lobster risotto. Lobster was underdone, cold inside. My main course, beef wellington, was okay, but the side of mash potatoes was dry. I could not eat it. It seemed like mashed potatoes were put on the plate 15 min before beef wellington. My girlfriend ordered a chicken dish. The chicken was underdone pinkish inside, and the sauce tasted like raw flour. Impossible to eat. We told the waiter, and he just said that he would let the kitchen know.
We spent right around $300, which included 20% gratuity. Huge waste of money. Im never coming back. This restaurant is ruining Ramsey's brand.
