Dark wood, tin ceilings, full bar, mounted game heads, casual atmosphere. My kind of place for a DC summer retreat. Bartender made a perfect Old Fashioned. Prices were in the zone. [ed. The place burned down after I wrote this review.]

It's a very nice place ,but the management sucks. Who's the owner? Hope this place doesn't get shutdown. Sad very sad!

Grady's is a great happy hour spot with a wide selection of beers available. The burgers and chicken wings are a must have as well. Tuesday night trivia is fun and draws a small crowd too. Definitely recommend for week day HH!

Awesome bar with tons of character. Food is great, bartenders are friendly, and Tuesday trivia is always a lot of fun. Great neighborhood spot

If you're looking for a chill place to get together with friends, without the hustle and bustle of a weekend night on U Street, then Grady's is the bar for you! The vibe is rustic with a particular theme of taxidermy and big game heads mounted around the restaurant. Its open layout has a variety of seating options for groups of all sizes, from booths to high tops to tables. We were a group of 15+ over the course of the night and service was friendly and fast. We mostly had drinks so I can't comment on the food, but what I saw looked good and I would be willing to give the menu a try next time. Overall, I highly recommend Grady's for a night out if you want to actually converse and not have to scream over loud music!

Love the Old Western theme of the bar. Staff in tshirts and TVs seem out of place. Need to give the second floor a try.

Open since February 2018, Grady's is a new, but welcome addition to the neighborhood. The staff hustle when it's busy and are friendly when it's more chill. The prices are very reasonable. The food is well above average for typical "bar food." Their beef is local and hormone free. The strip is absolutely delicious. Build your own mac n cheese may be my new favorite. I did not try the nachos my friend got (yet). But his expert opinion confirmed what my eyes told me. They have a classic Nintendo for guests to play. All in all, a great neighborhood bar.

Great neighborhood bar- music is fun, love the unique food and happy hour specials. They have also just started trivia on Tuesdays which is great!

Grady's is a great little hidden gem! It's got a great warm and cozy neighborhood feeling. The beer selection is great and the food is top notch! Would recommend coming Tuesday's for trivia

Ordered the bison burger and the chicken blt. The bison burger was a classic, like something that would place highly in Ron Swanson's burger contest. Juicy and just the right messy. The blt was so-so. We probably should have ordered the fries version. The atmosphere is about as relaxed as you could ask for. Great place to hang out.

I went here on a date since I requested a bar that's quiet so we can actually hear each other when talking, and it was located in between where we lived. It was a Tuesday night so there weren't a lot of people. We sat at a table, the lights were all on, and I actually don't even remember if there was actually music playing. It was super quiet; good thing we had good conversations. The service was spot on. The bartender was basically our server. We ordered a turkey club to share as well as macaroni and cheese. The turkey club was a great serving size and the mac and cheese was pretty okay. I'm curious to see how this bar is during the weekend, so I'll be back to check that out.

If this place was a little more "happening" (i.e. had more than 10 people) and played some cool music, it would be awesome. The decor is reminiscent of a old Western saloon (I could do with fewer animal heads on the walls but that's just me). The service is fast and friendly (you gotta love it when they refill your water before you need to ask). And the bison burger and fries really hit the spot. But like the other reviews have said, I'm a bit confused as to why it's not more popular. Perhaps it's because it's a little removed from the U Street strip. Perhaps it's because the bison burger is $18. Perhaps there are, in fact, too many dead animals on the walls. But even for a Thursday night, it seemed emptier than it should be. It's almost like a place you go when you want to be alone or don't want to risk anyone drunkenly bumping into you and ticking you off. It could be a good date spot, but beware if you're on a bad first date, there are NO distractions except the sounds of your voices and the occasional humming of the sports game on the TVs. My advice is to get a big group to come here - you'll be able to carve out a VIP spot and drown out the silence.
