I have been coming to Green Lantern for over 20 years. This used to be my favorite bar in DC. But the covid pandemic completely changed this place. It used to be a chill hangout for a more middle-aged crowd. But now they are trying to be a "dance club". I understand they pivoted their strategy to meet economic changes and needs. But:1) **** the music in the bar ares (separate from the dance space) is often turned up so loud that everyone just screams "WHAT???......
It was time to celebrate after covid and I made sure to hit this place up nightly when in DC. from karaoke to full on second floor dance parties there is everyone and everything here to celebrate fully. The bartenders are wonderful and we appreciate the amounts of red wine we consumed while enjoying our times here. Thank you!
Staff was incredibly welcoming and nice. We had just came from little gay pub and had a terrible service. The drinks here were amazing too. Highly recommend this place vs little gay pub. Definitely will return when in DC again.
