Hotel restaurant with extremely average food and below average service and poor ambiance for the cost of the meal

I have dietary restrictions so inquired about the shrimp tacos. They were willing to grill the shrimp versus deep frying it since I'm unable to have gluten. I appreciate them making that accommodation for me. The tacos were packed with toppings and very flavorful.

Didn't make a reservation at Old Ebbitt, so decided to eat at the hotel. Showed up at 5pm and they had plenty of space. The prices are a bit steep (which is to be expected of any restaurant with a captive hotel audience). Food itself was pretty good and came out fast. They have some decent craft beers on tap too. Service was very friendly.

My wife and i wanted breakfast close to our hotel and this looked like the right spot. Pictures on line are inaccurate as breakfast was a buffet of bland cafeteria foods that were extremely overpriced. Service was underpar due to the fact everyone going in was basically being suckered. Upon paying the check the waitress says their computers are down and must pay with cash. Conveniently they have an ATM with a $5 ATM fee. Why were there no signs posted and why didn't the waitress advise people upon entering that they were experiencing this sort of problem?? Because they knew many people would walk away since most people pay with cards these days. Therefore that's why i say they are playing people for sucker's. I do not recommend this place in the least!!! If I could I would give negative stars because they don't deserve one. Complete trash, don't waste your hard earned money in this place.

On a school trip, I led 31 people in without warning, and was not only fed, but fed with amazing meals. Vashti took all of our orders, served it up, and didn't miss a beat. She was sensational and the food was fantastic.

Hotel bar. Food was OK but service and atmosphere is based on hotel guests not wanting to go out.

One particular member of staff was so rude. We came for breakfast from another hotel after arriving in Washington. When we went to pay, the card machine was not working, we tried 6 cards in total and the woman blamed us, and made out that we were trying to eat for free. I have never been treated that way by someone who serves food before. When another member of staff came, it worked straight away!

My daughter lives a block away, so we came in for breakfast before she left for work. The two of us ordered four items, and three came out as completely wrong – like scrambled eggs instead of over easy, only thing they got right was an avocado. When we pointed out to our waitress, she grunted in a disinterested way, picked up the plates and walked away. No apology, acknowledgment, anything. We will never set foot in that place again.

Very ordinary, but convenient if you're staying in the hotel. Took a lot of trouble advising on gluten free food.

We stay at this hotel several times when we are in Washington D.C. and their breakfast buffet at this Hilton Garden Inn is very good. They have an omelette station where you can have yours made to order, the thick breakfast sausage was the best I've ever had anywhere, and the cut up natural fresh fruit was consistently great day after day. There were also assorted breads, cereals, and hash brown potatoes that looked good too for those who enjoy carbohydrates and sugary items for those who may want to gain weight:)
We would hardly recommend it for a hearty breakfast.

Stopped for breakfast. Food was ok. Western omelette was good, hash browns were cold. But our waitress was AMAZING!
