We came here for the first time tonight. First I’ll say that the waiter was great and the food was good BUT we were probably there under 1.5 hrs when the manager came to our table to let let us know that we had to leave in 10 mins. Mind you we were still eating and my friends had also ordered dessert to celebrate my birthday (that hadn’t come out yet). In my 52
Years on this planet I have never had anyone do this before including Michelin star restaurants. I won’t come back to this restaurant for that reason and they should really improve their customer service, starting with that manager.

I enjoy this restaurant so much! I eat here quite frequently and never steer to the wrong food options. You can TELL the meals are made with LOVE. The pita, the hummus, the chicken everything is so delectable.

The food was disgusting. We had the herb roasted chicken. It came with fabada, I was excited for it. It was so bad. The chef went wild with vinegar. It was pure vinegar. More vinegar than beans. The chicken was tasteless. I had to ask for salt and pepper. We also ordered the cauliflower. Tasteless. Extremely small portion. $15 bucks for cauliflower and we didn't even get the whole cauliflower. The flatbread was pretty good though. But they don't even give you free bread. Even Barcelona wine bar has free bread! We had to pay for a piece of bread.

Extremely overpriced. I cried as we paid. It was so bad.

Service is fine though. Our server Josh, he did what he could. But the chef was either drunk or angry. Worse food I've had in DC.

I came here for brunch today. My server was excellent, giving his viewpoint on their offerings, and made the experience pleasant. I'd come here again yo try their lunch/dinner fare. Was affordable and tasty.

Although the restaurant was slightly pricey and the food took a bit longer than expected, the service was outstanding. The staff were very polite, and the atmosphere was fantastic.

Gypsy Kitchen is one of those Washington DC spots that instantly feels like a getaway, even though you are still on 14th Street. The room is moody, vibrant, and designed for connection, with bohemian details like woven rugs, tapestries, Moorish tile, and intimate seating pockets that make every table feel like the best table in the house.

Then there is the rooftop. It is the kind of patio that turns a normal dinner into a full night, with open city views and lounge style comfort that makes you want to stay for one more round and one more plate.

The menu lands right in that sweet spot of adventurous and approachable, with Pan Mediterranean energy and shareable dishes that keep the table engaged. It is perfect for date night, birthday dinners, or hosting out of town guests when you want a guaranteed win.

If you are thinking about an event, do not wait. They can accommodate everything from a large group table up to 14 guests with a set food and beverage minimum, to full buyouts for up to 250 guests, which tells you everything about how well this space carries a celebration.

Bottom line, if you have not done Gypsy Kitchen yet, you are missing one of the most transportive dinner experiences in the city. Reserve it now and thank yourself later.

Great food. Great atmosphere. I don’t think I got their best foot forward on service, but I came during a holiday when I know things are more challenging so I’m assuming it was a fluke. Great spot to check out for good Mediterranean fare.

Their house wine was surprisingly good — and affordable.

20% mandatory tip for larger parties. Plus 3% I-82 fee. These are taxed. Then they have the gall to ask for more romps tips on top of it.

Just crazy for mediocre service. Stay away.

Great cocktails! The bread is fantastic: warm, soft, buttery. We also loved the shrimp fritters and chicken
