Normally this place would get 5 stars from me because the taste of the breakfast is really good. But I’ve noticed that they never bring all of the food you order. Like literally never. I order from here 3 times a week and have for months. I need the cooks and the expo to read the tickets and get it right. People spend hard earned money for their food. And should receive it all!

Jerk chicken, cabbage, rice and peas
The entire dish was probably the most flavorless Jamaican food I've ever had, which was very surprising. It arrived cold, but I blame Uber for that. The chicken and the rice and peas were very dry. The "cabbage" had more carrots in it than actual carrots. Very disappointing and wouldn't order from here again.

Very disappointed in the portion. Literally one scoop of rice. Got macaroni and cheese and the portion was terribly small too. Also ONE piece of fried chicken. For the price isn’t worth it.

Wow. Amazing flavor. The jerk chicken was mind blowing smoky goodness and paired perfectly with sweet habanero sauce. Everything else was excellent - rice and peas, cabbage stir fry, candied yams, collard greens, reggae rice, fried plantains, and porridge.
Great customer service, go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. Pleasant atmosphere. Can’t stop telling others about the food.

The oxtail dish I ordered was really good. It tasted like real real food that maybe your grandmother made, but actually made by a young Jamaican man who REALLY knows how to cook. The price point felt high for a lunchtime purchase. I hope they consider offering half price during lunch time to get regular business.

Five stars for service, and another five stars for delicious food. My first impression with Halfway Tree DC was via Uber Eats and I did experience an issue with my order. However, a wonderful and lovely woman named Kerry reached out and made things right. As an islander, I co-sign on the food at Halfway Tree DC and my Guyanese coworker loves their food as well. They serve beyond proper food and the way they do right earns all my manners and respect. I would most definitely recommend Halfway Tree DC for all your Caribbean food cravings and would personally recommend their Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, and Curry Goat. All their sides--Jerk Jasmine Rice, Stir-Fry Cabbage, Plantains, Jerk Pasta---off the chain in taste. A+++

They are delicious!! We had the goat curry and the brown stew chicken and it’s some of the best Jamaican food we’ve had. We can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
