Great food selection, atmosphere, and service by the staff. Authentic dinner flavors with a DC touch. We had the Brunch Burger and the Steak, and all was great. Their fries are at a different level!

We were able to book the upstairs for our son's reception dinner after the previous place we had booked closed. We decided to have lunch there the week before and my son and now daughter in law were happier with the Hawk and the food was really good.
They were very accommodating and it's the perfect size for a party 30+ Upstairs. Everyone loved the food, my only suggestion would be to have a bit more food ready to replace after the initial pass. 2 of our guests arrived late and had to order from the menu. The food tasted great and the cheesecake was fabulous 👌.

Took forever for the host to seat us. Never saw a server. Finally looked around and realized the place was completely filled with 20-something bro dudes whose parents bought them a job on some congressional staff...so we left and went for tacos.

Nice Hill bar environment, good pub food and good drink selection. However, they were really shady about happy hour prices. We even double-checked with staff member which items were on happy hour before ordering, but then the receipt had normal prices. We asked about it, and staff member said happy hour is only on Thursdays?? So we asked to see the menu, and it literally said Monday-Friday (also says that on pdf menu on their website as of today). Then manager came over and said he was going to be nice and give us a discount, but then he also said the happy hour discount isn't really very much off, so we shouldn't be concerned about it lol. Unsurprisingly, the "discount", a separate line item, was less off list price than the advertised happy hour prices would've been. Note, they didn't assert that we didn't order in time for happy hour or anything like that, and it would be no worries if someone got confused about which days they have happy hour, but they kept on doubling down... It's not a large amount of money or anything, but it's just weird and kind of deceitful behavior.

The food at this restaurant was delicious. Their fries seem to be hand cut and I have no idea how they cooked them but they were excellent. The wings were also excellent. A friend had the blt on soft brioche bread and it was delicious!!! I would recommend this restaurant.

New menu is pretty bad. Sandwiches and flatbread, just like the five other bars within 2 blocks. Used to be one of my go-tos. Sorry guys, hope you bring the fun stuff back.
-Shepherd Pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Meatloaf, Fish n Chips were my favorites -
My family has been loyal patrons to Hawk n Dove for almost 10 years and have enjoyed everything about the place. That is until tonight when I simply questioned why the bar couldn’t stay open a little later on Saturday nights. The Operations manager proceeded to attack me about my opinion and after asking him numerous times to please leave me alone and finally inquiring if he was the owner, he kicked me out and banned me. I explained that my wife and kids and I spend a lot of money there and he responded that we were a problem. Wow! Never been treated so poorly by someone at a restaurant/bar where everyone else who works there would attest that we are very nice and do indeed spend a lot of money. I had just come from my son’s football game and wanted to have a beer and relax but I was attacked by someone because I shared my opinion. I am still in shock and I am good friends with all the managers that have worked there so it does sadden me to be so disrespected by someone that works in customer service. Please ask your employees how they feel about us and review the video footage. We have lived on Capitol Hill for almost 10 years and my wife’s parents are also very well established on the hill. I wouldn’t think a friendly neighborhood restaurant would want to destroy a long established relationship with a well respected family all because an operations manager needed to show his authority and treat someone so utterly disrespectful.
