My guest from Australia LOVED this place. She tried a crabcake for the first time. The ambiance and decor were just what she wanted from a "Washington restaurant." We had a great time, and our server was just the right amount of attentive. Would go there again, and Highly Recommend.

It took 30 mins for our order of pancakes for the kids. The side salad looked old and not edible. We sent back the salad but only 1 of 3 people who ordered the same dish got the fresher salad. We spoke to her manager who removed the kids orders but not happy with our experience. We are never going back again. The restaurant was empty at 11:30 on a Saturday and was not properly staffed.

Everything was great but the kitchen was EXTREMELY slow. Waited an hour for our lunch. Our server was very nice and extremely apologetic. We felt badl for him because he was embarassed.

Food only average and overpriced for what it was. Service was okay--a little slow, but it was busy.

We were repeat customers (we typically visit after a play or concert at the Folger Library). Although the food was good as always (I order the steak salad), the service and noise left something to be desired. It took nearly 40 minutes for the food to arrive (we were there on Saturday about 4 p.m., so not the busiest time). Twice our waiter reassured us that it was coming (annoyingly, a large party that arrived 10 minutes after us received theirs first). That party, which sat directly behind us, was so loud that I could barely hear my companions.

I had a reservation and I showed the guy at the front, and he said that they already “did” their reservations (no idea what that means). The reservation was not honored. We had to sit in the bar area and while there saw many people come and go without reservations and were sat in the main dining area.

Love this place. It was so fun when we were in our 20-30s. It's still fun. The food quality was very good, a little too much spice on the grouper. Was rather strange that they had “run out” of Cesar. Salad at 5:45 pm The service was very good, however they didn't have a sufficient number of staff; they truly hustled but they need 1-2 more to serve.

Food and drink took forever to arrive and when it did we were told they only had half the elements on the menu. Very odd. Wont be back.

It was amazing. We had 11 people and they opened a section for us to make sure we could be taken care of. The food was amazing and everyone was so kind and friendly! Thank you so much for making this a perfect place for our birthday celebration!

Great food selection, atmosphere, and service by the staff. Authentic dinner flavors with a DC touch. We had the Brunch Burger and the Steak, and all was great. Their fries are at a different level!

We were able to book the upstairs for our son's reception dinner after the previous place we had booked closed. We decided to have lunch there the week before and my son and now daughter in law were happier with the Hawk and the food was really good.
They were very accommodating and it's the perfect size for a party 30+ Upstairs. Everyone loved the food, my only suggestion would be to have a bit more food ready to replace after the initial pass. 2 of our guests arrived late and had to order from the menu. The food tasted great and the cheesecake was fabulous 👌.

Took forever for the host to seat us. Never saw a server. Finally looked around and realized the place was completely filled with 20-something bro dudes whose parents bought them a job on some congressional staff...so we left and went for tacos.
