Consistent well done soul food. Henry's is my go to place for when I need go bring my own food (think summer outdoor events). The portions are good, the food will leave you satisfied and full. My favs are the fried chicken and when they have them the ribs.
Definitely WOULD NOT come back to Henryâs! Iâm from the area and have been hearing good things about it,decided to check it out. I ordered my food and while I waited, a dude came in the restaurant (he was white) he ordered his food and the older lady at the counter was rude for no reason. Iâm sitting at the table just watching for my food and he asked her a question she made a face and responded with an attitude again for no reason. She definitely wasnât the friendliest towards me either but Like come on now weâre all adults and I physically watched her be rude for no reason. She didnât act like that towards everyone who came in so it made no sense. The Mac was good the chicken was mid and the sweet potato sides I was given was half of a potato??? Iâm sure they make it in big batches but it wasnât even sweet potatoes it was a potato. Overall the food was ok, the place was kinda dirty so I wouldnât want to see the kitchen but seeing her act different towards people for no reason is a NO for me.i will say the servings were good sized and The younger lady was nice but the food was ehh . Wouldnât recommend!

The best food Iâve tried in DC!! The place was warm and welcoming, and the quality-to-price ratio was excellent. I had some fried chicken, mac&cheese, and a potato salad paired with an amazing strawberry lemonade (still dreaming about it) đ They also have a restroom and a few bar seats to sit! Merci

EXQUISITE SERVICES
First & foremost as much money as this establishment makes I would think they would invest in a âWET FLOOR SIGNâ im currently pregnant & easily could of slipped. Customer service from management/ short light skin black hair cook in the back is POOR. I didnt catch her name which is why i described how she looked. Didnt see a hair net or gloves on at all coming to & from the kitchen. Greens were horrible seemed rushed with BIG CHUNKY STALKS left on greens & undercooked and no seasoning. I get stuffed chicken all the time which comes with stuffing today it seems as though the staff was eager to leave rushing to make orders as my plate had the smallest scoop of stuffing doused with souch gravy to the point where the stuffing was so overloaded with gravy it was soggy before even leaving out the establishment. I work in food service so as paying customer when I asked for a separate container of stuffing without gravy( as I was not eating right then & there) instead of the lady cook providing a courtesy container for the inconvenience as she can see the gravy is overloaded she replied very rudely âthats not how this workâ and initially wanted to take the already paid for container of food back in the back kitchen just to remove the small scoop of stuffing that was going in the trash anyway because itâs already been opened & touched by the customer. Im concerned for health reasons of cross contamination & saving scraps of food to use for other customers after me because normally Iâve never witnessed such a thing at other restaurants. Maybe she wanted to save for herself to enjoy a snack in the back on her break after a long hard day of working in a hot kitchen.& the mac was mid. Its 2025 Work on better customer service & better presentation.

Let me tell yall, from a girl down south. This food tasted like Florida food. Like somebody grandma in the back singing church music. I went to alot of places in the VA trying to find soul food, guess what $300 letter we did. 20/20
Very limited seating (4-5) seats. It's mostly a carryout. The food is good, served in very generous portions.

Henryâs used to have the best food but theyâve gone down hill. I called at 11:02am (opening time) to place an order for pick up. The person answering the phone was rude and cut me off then put me on hold for over 10 minutes. Sheâs done this before but I didnât really pay it any mind as I know Henryâs is usually busy, so we decided to walk in and ordered our usual turkey with gravy and stuffing. My man had the fish and it was good. My food wasnât good.. my stuffing tasted like mush and mustard?! Gravy was yellow and the rice wasnât cooked right. I was super disappointed.The food and customer service was not worth the 30 minute drive. Also how are you opening the establishment and already have an attitude?

My boyfriend and I visited this place because we wanted Soul food and we heard great things about this place. They did not dissapoint. I got cornbread, greens, mac and cheese, 6 wings, and a sweet potatoe pie. The lemonade was very good.

Ordered for take-out and it was cool. It wasn't nasty and it wasn't consistently fire either. The turkey wings, stuffing, yams and ribs, fire. The mac was overcooked and the greens were underseasoned. The sweet potato pie was delicious. The strawberry cake was more like strawberry lemon way-too-much flour pound cake. Very dense and sweet. There weren't even any crumbs, that thang was hemmed up.

My friend and I walked in yesterday around late lunch time and the nice lady at the front asked what we wanted and directed us to the menu at the front. I had some fried fish with yams and mac and so did my friend except he got the smothered pork chops. Tender meat, the fish was fresh and delicious and I am for sure coming back for more!
