Was here during the World Pride 2025 DC event. and as a visitor I love the ube latte and the pandan latte! Latte with filipino twist! the ambiance and food is also sooo good. They def got thw authentic filipino flavor. Service is fast and staff is attentive. The place is exotic but not intimidating for anybody who’s never tried filipino food.

We had a large order for 15 people (which is a lot) but the restaurant ran out of fries at 12:30pm and didnt want to offer any substitutes or a discount for something THEY are missing. They also messed up our order repeatedly shorting us or two orders and a couple drinks.

Y’all when I tell you I am depressed knowing that Hiraya is closing in a month, I am not exaggerating. Really a travesty to see this place go on H street, it mixes the cafe/counter service format really well. The food is phenomenal and you see their stunning lattes everywhere. I got the chopsuey and it was delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by soon if you can!

Hiraya has such a chill vibe—it’s one of those places that feels cozy the moment you walk in. The decor is really cute and gives off that warm, Filipino home-style feel. The food? Super good. Everything tasted homemade but with a little twist that makes it feel special.

What I really liked was the staff—super friendly, and you can tell they care about what they’re serving. It’s not a super fancy spot, but that’s what makes it feel real and welcoming. Great for catching up with friends or just treating yourself.

Totally recommend if you want comfort food and good vibes.

Everything about it is amazing! If you’re in the area and looking for pork belly, Hiraya has Lechon Kawali for you.

This place has the worst service! If there is a choice for NO STARS I would've chosen that. I took my niece and my family here last Saturday for brunch when we visited DC. There are a few staff just standing around and chit chatting. One person behind the counter who takes order, payment and also preparing drinks and food. The food which is PRICEY and very bland came one by one and COLD. It took a while to get our food and when I tried to get someone's attention, she just ignored me. Forgot my BF soda, I had to go to the counter and found it sitting there with some of the food we ordered and when I asked for my bread to be warmed because it was so cold like it just came out of the freezer (Cheese enseymada does not take a lot of prepping and serving it room temp or a bit warm is the proper way to serve it). It took so long to get my bread back that when I asked the lady in the counter, she gave me a look like I was a bother. Needless to say my enseymada is burnt to black. We paid almost $90 for 2 calamansi juice, 1 ube latte, 1 small bottle of coke, 1 black coffee, 2 cheese enseymada, 1 breakfast chorizo sandwich, cookie and a ham and cheese croissant.
Absolutely, slow service and bad attitude from all servers. Don't waste your time and money! It is not worth it at ALL. I might as well go to McDonalds or Starbucks.

Waited too long for a coffee and tea. Puts itself out as a cafe but barista didn’t know what a half-decaf americano was. Good vibe though.

Lower your expectations so you wont be disappointed. It is a Filipino restaurant but the hospitality is not as warm as other Filipino restaurants across the United States.

As a Filipino craving for Pinoy foods; I was immediately hyped after a dose of the cafe's social media coverage. Brought my family here after checking on the online menu, or the menu being posted in google.

ATMOSPHERE- the interior design is fusion of industrial and accented with few Filipino decorations; some contemporay lights.Theres like an interior garden too.

SERVICE - There are no hostess or anyone guiding. We found us a table and took some menu at the counter. The lady in the counter didnt even bothered greeting us. She seemed oriental but not sure if shes a Pinoy. No Filipino wide smile or warm greetings. As a Filipino, I asked her what will be the sauce/dip of the lechon kawali. ( I was thinking of Mang Tomas) But she quickly dismissed my question. So being polite I just went back to ouf table.
SERVICE RECOVERY THOUGH was done by the Mexican looking server, she was very polite, attentive and very warm. MAS PINAY PA ANG UGALI.

FOOD- the lechon kawali is not as tender as I was expecting but it did satisfied my craving. It came with I think Pinakurat DIp. The atsara on side is good. Drinks were insipid. Kinda bland.

OVERALL, If one carries Filipino cuisine, one should always put their Filipino Hospitality forward, cause I think that makes a Filipino restaurant stands out from the rest.

I highly recommend that everyone experience this restaurant more than twice a month. This was one of the best experiences of my dining life. From the time I entered the restaurant until the time I left, I felt like I was treated like royalty. Thank you so much for the experience and I look forward to coming back. Food was so good. The crab roll was 10/10

Food wasn’t remarkable at all considering the price point. Had the ube latte and champorado latte. Couldn’t even taste the flavors, literally just a regular latte. Turon cupcake was served hard and cold. Paid for just looks and aesthetics really.

I was super excited to try this place.
I went to the cafe side. The drinks were great but the turon cupcake I got was not good at all. It was so dry and lacked taste.
