I highly recommend that everyone experience this restaurant more than twice a month. This was one of the best experiences of my dining life. From the time I entered the restaurant until the time I left, I felt like I was treated like royalty. Thank you so much for the experience and I look forward to coming back. Food was so good. The crab roll was 10/10

Food wasn’t remarkable at all considering the price point. Had the ube latte and champorado latte. Couldn’t even taste the flavors, literally just a regular latte. Turon cupcake was served hard and cold. Paid for just looks and aesthetics really.

I was super excited to try this place.
I went to the cafe side. The drinks were great but the turon cupcake I got was not good at all. It was so dry and lacked taste.

Really overall 3.5 stars. Came here for a DC restaurant week for prefix menu for $65 pp. The food was tasty and presented well, but the portions were ridiculously small. It made me feel wanting more like Oliver Twist. The main course was same portion as appetizer. I ordered sweet corn ravioli and literally had 4 eavioliea on the plate while my friend's Cod was smaller than 4 oz and didn't even come with rice (was extra). The service was friendly but they were slow in getting our check and to my surprise they added 22% automatically!
Since when is 22% a standard? Is this a DC things? Full disclosure I live in Norther Virginia so maybe I just don't know, but I won't be back for this price point and these Oliver Twist portions.

Really great food! We tried the French toast (more of a desert than a French toast) , the brisket, eggs and cheese and the pandan latte (fantastic!). Good service managing a large party, as well.

The bakery items are a bit dicey- we ordered the guava danish but it ran out by the time they brought the food to our table and I didn’t understand how that’s possible.

We had an unforgettable dining experience at Hiraya! The modern twist on traditional Filipino cuisine was absolute perfection. Each dish was expertly crafted to balance innovative flavors while maintaining the authentic taste of home.

The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The team's passion for sharing Filipino culture through food truly shone through.

The food was not impressive. I always eat at 5 stars Restaurants and this place is fly infested yesterday and it kept landing on our desserts. My Brother hated everything too. We actually gave 30% tip but it looked like the help did not want to give us our UBE Lattle and PANDAN Latte. He just left it in the counter. I looked at it with shocked looked in my face. I couldn’t believe it. The help actually said “You don’t have to get up to get it” which I thought was extremely rude. Anyways, it was at the Cafe and the help cashier made us pay first to dine. It was SUPER WEIRD. I ate in all the CLASSY 5 Stars in DC and this place is 1 Star in my book. I never give reviews but we were so disappointed that’s why I’m doing this review online for other people. I also think this is a SUCKER LOCATION. It was small and it felt like I was inside of a garage, which I believe it is because of the OPEN GARAGE DOORS. Hopefully my point of view will give some light to other fine tourist diner in DC.

In my traveling, there is nothing I love more than stumbling into a treasure by accident. I was looking at Washington DC’s restaurant week offerings when @hirayadc popped up on my browser. Funnily enough, I was just arguing with Ray about his disinterest in Filipino food and his reluctance to try more of it so I figured an upscale version could definitely change his mind. So we opted to join them for Saturday night dinner.

When we walked in, I immediately noticed the little touches of “kababayan” in the decor: the wicker chairs, the ceiling fans made of wood, the paintings depicting rural community life. I heard the low murmur of Tagalog from patrons and staff alike. I felt like I was walking into my old dining room in the Philippines. And it definitely felt like family.

The drinks were excellent, incorporating flavors of calamansi and buko pandan with creative twists of apertivo and bubbles. Both nostalgic and edgy. The food was exactly as I hoped: familiar yet forward. From the first bite of the crab lumpia with caviar starter, I knew we were in for a culinary adventure. Dishes like cassava cake with aligue (crab fat), hamachi kinilaw, and chicken liver toast teased the taste buds for the richer courses. The sirloin prepared adobo-style and paired with garlic rice was simply superb. All that was missing was a fried egg! The desserts were perfect: Black Forest cake and their spin on a flan made with coffee and caramel. We were even given a small surprise of cantaloupe granita with cheese and jellied fruit, which was so refreshing! And to finish off the evening, we got to taste their exclusive rum made in collaboration with @cottonandreed. It was so good, we ended up taking a bottle home with us.

To Chef @paolodungca and his crew at Hiraya, I thank you for an unforgettable evening. You filled my belly with amazing food and my mind with forgotten memories. It is an experience I would not soon forget. I am looking forward to returning to Hiraya with the whole family next time!

Fun brunch menu! I loved my French toast but wish I’d gotten something a little different for my drink. I think the ube flavor can just be a little much if you’re not already a fan/used to it but that’s just a personal thing.

We hosted a friend's birthday at Hiraya, and the chef’s tasting menu was outstanding. The food was not only delicious but also perfectly complemented by the cocktails and wine pairing. The service was excellent, with the staff going above and beyond to make our experience truly special.

A new DC favorite of mine!! We went to the cafe for their sunset hour and got lumpia, wings, lechon rice bowl and the OG burger. Everything was delicious!!! We also got the turon latte, a regular latte, and white sangria. Enjoyed those so much we came back the next day to try the Frankie miñoza (Calamansi iced tea) and salabat con yelo, both were very refreshing. Hoping they expand/improve their merch selection because I’d definitely support with a cute hat or tee shirt or even just a sticker/magnet!

The portion sizes for the rice bowls are not worth the price. They've been significantly reduced from my previous visits. This $25 bowl is overpriced for portion size.

So good that we came back the next day! This was our first stop when we got to DC. One of the best Latte’s that I’ve had. Lumpia, wings, lechon, and burger were all so good. Really nice to have such good Filipino food!
