Where are the TVs outside!? We came here for the women’s March madness championship game, outside seemed like they had the game on because you could hear the sound at the entrance, inside was silent, no sound over the stereo despite the TVs having the game on, it was a gorgeous day, but there are no TVs outside at all, and inside is so dark. Midlands across the street had a line down the block because everyone was there to enjoy the beautiful day and watch the games outside. At least for the few March madness weekends, they should put some TVs outside. Or have a better inside vibe.

Review is for hosting a toddler bday party during the Sunday Family Funday event. The space and concept are great - my son and his friends loved being able to run around in the open space. We were grateful to have been able to bring in our own cupcakes and decorations to celebrate. However, the experience was not as easy or accommodating as we would have hoped:1. Food/Drink - their website says that they will have "kid-friendly breakfast and snacks available for everyone". However, there was no food available for purchase, and the only link on their menu was to order pizza from a nearby place that doesn't open until noon on Sundays. They also said our only option for ordering food in advance would be to use their catering menu because other outside food is not allowed. However, we observed plenty of people bringing in outside food without issue. We also asked about the possibility of purchasing drink pitchers (e.g., mimosas or even coffee) for our group and they said they couldn't do that. I would have appreciated more flexibility here.2. Music - the musical act did not arrive until 10:40am for an event promised to be (and paid for as) 10am-12pm. There was no communication from the staff until we explicitly asked, nor did they attempt to provide any kid-friendly music over the speakers to make up for the lack of a performer. They also never checked any tickets or names, so we felt a bit like we paid for our entire group to attend for no reason. We would certainly go back on Sunday mornings with our son to enjoy the atmosphere and a beverage but would likely not host another event here.

This review is for Sunday morning kiddo brunch time! Today they had Mirabel and Isabella singing Encanto songs with the kids. My 3 year old absolutely loved it! Such a great thing to have in the neighborhood! Plenty of space and we're allowed to bring outside food, so we brought bagels from Call Your Mother down the block. So easy and the kids felt like it was a special occasion. Thank you Hook Hall!

We love hosting our client appreciation parties at Hook Hall - the spaces are versatile, it's pet and kid-friendly, and planning/execution was smooth. Thank you to Tara and all the staff for another successful event!

Not the best experience. We got there for our reservation and it took so long to get a server that all my guests ordered from the bar. We then found out there was no food at all at the venue nor could they order the pizza that was on their menu from somewhere down the street. The fire at our spot went out more than three times and we had to wait for someone to come fix it while all the smoke was going all over my guests to the point where they had to fan themselves.

We had a girls night out that led to disappointment. We encountered a service error that left us unsatisfied. Despite the pleasant services received from our waitress and the bar staff, management oversight and unwillingness to make it right led to a bad experience.

What a treat! The Uncle Nearest room with hot tub was a great place to spend the evening. The room had nice warm fires, robes, towels and a changing room and great music. The hot tub was at a perfect temperature and the staff very attentive. Loved it!

*BEWARE* BEWARE*BEWARE AVOID RESERVING A CABANA AT HOOK HALL. They charge a $99 fee to sit outside, with inadequate heating making it uncomfortable. Despite the confirmation email stating the deposit secures the booking and will be applied to the final bill, staff seemed unaware. The manager (Aymeric) on duty the night of Jan 14th dismissed our concerns, offering no resolution. He informed us that the confirmation email was the final bill in question (BULLSHIT). He was a horrible manager and managed to lose customers that would have brought a lot of business to them if we would have had a great experience. Our server, Shonte, was the only bright spot. She was the only one that tried to smooth over everything after our encounter with the manager. Additionally, they lack takeout containers, the credit card machine doesn't offer a tipping option, and the servers need better winter attire for outdoor service in the cold.

The atmosphere is very nice as well as the concept. Although it's cold outside I feel as though the steam should've been warmed with heat lamps at least. The fire pit does not keep the room cold. The temperature of the water was warm. All the heat escaped the hot tub. The "northern lights" blew. We didn't get to enjoy the lights or mirror because the lights blew. The icing on the cake was the homeless man who barged in on us and the first thing we thought about was our purses and clothes. Had he ran in and taken our things while we were in the hot tub there's nothing we could've done. There's no attendant at the front to check people in or keep unwanted people out. It was a bit disappointing.

Hook Hall has one of the most unique and best bar setups in DC, with an indoor and outdoor area. Hook Hall seasonally changes its setup, featuring designs such as ski chalets and firepits in the winter and cabanas in the summer. I recently went for a friend's birthday party and sat in the outdoor area. The firepits worked well and their seasonal hot mulled wine was delicious. However, when I tried to order food, they were out of several things, including the wings and tacos. I ended up ordering the pretzel with beer cheese, which was fantastic and tasted like it was made in-house (even if it wasn't). The service also could have been a bit faster in delivering the food, as my group was the only one at Hook Hall at the time. Nonetheless, I look forward to my next visit to Hook Hall!

With the inside done up like an Alpine lodge, this is one of DC's most unqiue bars. Dog friendly, fire pits, couches, lawn games, and a great selection of cocktails and beers. What more could you ask for?

Huge space, scarcely decorated, and terrible rail drinks. Our bartender felt like it was her first day. The buffet for the special event had super tasty food though. This ones tuff to make a final decision on....probably no need to go back.
