The worst service I've had in so long. Upon entering I greeted her. Not the other way around. She didn't even reply to me. Of course she did not write anything down for a family of four so both my husband and I had our food come out wrong. My husband let her know and this lady tried to GASLIGHT ME trying to convince me I had ordered what I received. I assure you reader, I know what I ordered. This was IHOP's last chance with me. Also be prepared for the most expensive IHOP in your life, talking Time Square prices, $20 for pancakes without any eggs etc.

The staff is kind and patient. The food is not as good as it once was expected powdered eggs. To be honest the restaurant was not clean.

Let me just say we went on a Saturday night. One young black lady with braids was the host and there was one black guy who was serving. They handled that entire restaurant as loud and busy as it could possibly be with no other assistance. It is a shame that the establishment has them working like this but I was very proud of how they both handled the people who were rude, the lines waiting to be seated and the taking of orders and serving the tables. They were excellent! We went late Friday night (actually early Saturday morning around 3am), March 16 so whoever it was that was there, they deserve a raise!!!!

By far the most uncomfortable and EXPENSIVE dining experiences for an IHOP...which is USUALLY relatively cheap, delicious and convenient, not at the Columbia Heights area of Washington DC. For starters, the restaurant was nearly empty (of patrons) and about two servers, a hostess and a male worker. After being seated about fifteen minutes passed before I was even acknowledged, no greeting or anything that I witnessed "others" recieving. Food took close to 18 minutes to be done and I got the coffee with, not before my entree arrived. My shortstack was borderline bland and not fluffy at all, my three scrambled eggs were fine, my crispy potatoes were more like lukewarm, unseasoned and hard, the syrup was stale and difficult to pour out and my coffee was almost hot. The atmosphere was quite unwelcoming and hostile at times, kinda felt the need to constantly look over my shoulder. I was never checked on or asked anything, not even for my check. I listened to the employees bad mouth customers and a former colleague throughout my entire meal. Lastly,, I belive that I was intentionally overcharged to compensate for the fact that they don't get much traffic nor decent tips: I was charged $5.69 for a cup of coffee!!!!!!!!! In total my bill was $38.58, for an ordinary shortstack, three scrambled eggs with avocado, side of crispy potatoes and a cup of coffee....an 11+ dollar difference from what I pay at my preferred IHOP in Arlington Virginia. All in all, it was a very expensive, tasteless and uncomfortable dinner for me, I'm certain that I was robbed of somewhere between $3 to $10.00 because no one's gonna pay for careless and disrespectful customer service. In the very near future I see this location going out of business or getting much needed "makeover".

So I ended up ordering delivery through the app. I was sent the wrong order (not to the fault of Doordash but of the restaurant) I had ordered a waffle meal with eggs and bacon and was sent Pancakes and Tenders. When I called the restaurant (multiple times) no one answered the phone. I had a friend call the restaurant and they didn't answer for her either. I wanted them to fix the situation they messed up on.

It is a place that we really like for breakfast because of its variety and quality of food. The prices are reasonable and the service is fast.

Extremely expensive! You can't get an omelette here for less than $20! This is Times Square-style pricing, almost double the cost of other places in DC.Also, beware that you will get charged four dollars extra per child's drink! The kids menu does not warn you that drinks are NOT included. And the server didn’t tell us either. When I questioned the surprise items on the bill, he just said “no, not included.)The food is what you would expect (filling portion sizes and solid taste, hence three stars). Just not worth the high prices and slow service. We waited over five minutes to be seated, ten minutes to order, and 15 minutes for food to arrive. A local independent diner would be a better bet. Clean bathrooms.Kid-friendliness: Kids can make a lot of noise here without causing a scene. Good for families. The kids eat free deal is only in the afternoon.

We hadn't been to an IHOP in a long time. No issues with the orders though a bit pricey ($70 inc tip) for 2 eggs, 2 bacon & 2 blueberry pancakes for 2 people.Best part: My husband liked that we met a US Marine who works there.

Dietary restrictions: My friend who dined with us has diabetes and is allergic to eggs. We went on day they were having free pancakes and was worried that he couldn't enjoy them because pancakes usually contain eggs, luckily they're pancakes don't have eggs and the menu had plenty of choices for his dietary needs. I also noticed the menu has a lot of delicious looking vegetarian and vegan options. They also have gluten-free pancakes and options as well.
