Good spot is Georgetown for Italian. It’s in a nice location near the canal and close to the waterfront. Dinner time and sometimes lunch are very busy here. During three week for dinner is not so bad especially after the rush. The interior environment is not very conducive to conversing. The noise levels are more intrusive than other restaurants. That’s why a weekday dinner here is nicer especially if on a date.A good option is takeout for pizza. The pasta and meatballs are very good.

Il canale is always me go to option in Georgetown. In a maze of tourist traps its one of the only options that will give you true value and quality. The pizzas are delicious and the surprise of the night was the calzone, the ricotta filling was so good!

I got the mushroom ravioli and I fear it was the worst ravioli I’ve had at a dine in experience. It came out fast, however it was mushy, rushed, and a completely liquid texture once sliced open. If you are craving Italian food in Georgetown, I would not recommend this place. Service was great though.

I kept hearing great things about this place so I tried it once. Then again. Then again, and this third time will be my last. Each time confirmed my previous visits’ thoughts. First of all, we were seated on time for our reservation, but sat at our table over 30 minutes with no waiter coming to give us water or bread or ask for our order. Finally, I saw waiters just chatting in the corner, so I asked them if we could get some water. They were very nonchalant and took a long time getting us water and our orders. Once we received our app (the fried rice balls) they were cold in the middle. My entree was very subpar and was not worth the price. I’ve been to many great Italian restaurants in DC, but this one does not live up to the hype.

Overall 20,000/10. Everything was absolutely incredible. We started out with their delicious complimentary bread, arancini balls, and fried buffalo mozz. ALL delish. We then had an awesome Caesar salad! For our entrees we had spaghetti pomodoro & gnocchi bolognese! Best pasta I’ve ever had! Can’t forget about dessert- the vanilla gelato was the BEST I’ve had in my life! My husband got the tiramisu and said it was delicious!! The service was impeccable. Absolutely can understand why this is such a high ranked restaurant! Made my husband and i’s night so great!!

Dined at this restaurant with a large group of friends at the onset of Il Canale’s Saturday evening dinner window. We had reservations and in spite of the huge lines outside, we were seated promptly on their second floor. Our server was attentive and efficient. The other staff working on our floor were very kind and welcoming. Our food was served quickly and there was only one snafu in the order which was quickly corrected. The quality of the food was fine but nothing special. For a quick bite with quick and attentive service Il Canale hit the mark.
