We enjoyed the food and will chalk up the poor service as being forgot about as the only table dinning outside. I can not get past is the automatic 20% gratuity added, regardless of party size. We were not warned about the automatic 20% added and would not had tipped 20% for being forgotten about.
Tried Il Piatto during restaurant week for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised! DC has tons of Italian restaurants so sometimes good ones are hard to find but I enjoyed this place.

Visiting last weekend and was craving Italian food so we found this place close to the hotel. Very elegant atmosphere. Got the garlic bread,calamari , short ribs and spinach and ricotta ravioli. Everything was great. Short rib was amazing . Def recommend
