Immigrant Food at Planet Word

I had the Persian bowl ( or something
Like it) and the mushroom soup. Sorry I can’t provide pics cause I wanted to enjoy the full experience. Both plates excelled in presentation and flavors. They blew my mind; specially the mushroom soup. It was amazing! I also like that the Persian bowl was a feature by an Iranian chef recently arrived to the country. The ambience and service were outstanding as well. And I loved that I could, for once, speak Spanish without feeling intimidated.

This place was amazing. The food is very flavorful, which I know is not for everyone, but it was perfect for me. I tried 5 different dishes and every one was terrific.

I went for lunch hoping for gumbo, but the West African Gumbo just isn’t a gumbo. It’s a salad with a sort of roux sauce up top.

I feel tricked into ordering something I did not want. Gumbo is a soup dish with rice, this is a salad with rice. It was a cold day and I ordered gumbo for that reason, unfortunately I got a salad bowl.

Flavor was fine, but please be honest about what you’re serving. Especially if your whole brand is connecting people to culinary contributions from immigrant communities. You’re misrepresenting the incredibly rich culture behind gumbo. This is a West African Salad Bowl, and that’s okay. But, call it that!

The food was tremendous. We had lamb skewers, Thai salad, Asian cauliflower, and mushroom soup. Everything was tremendous and I highly recommend anything we ate. We left a little hungry but would go back again if we have the opportunity.

Absolutely amazing food! Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, and the presentation was on point. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality and taste!

This restaurant is consistently top-notch in every category. The staff is always incredibly helpful and attentive (truly feels like a family) and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Every time I’ve visited this spot I’m wow’d by the creative cocktails, variety and flavors of the dishes I’ve tried, and impeccable customer-focus. I love recommending this place to friends and family because it’s always reliable, consistently excellent, and driven by a meaningful mission that truly shines through. What a beautiful atmosphere! My fiancé and I loved the diversity of food and especially enjoyed the parfaits. The very kind staff who took our order Anna was so so nice and a pleasure to talk to! I have not been to all the locations but this is a must for anyone going to Planet Word anyhow. We went on a Sunday with a moderate crowd; any other day may have more people. Thank you to the staff and again to the general community please support this food place!
