Everything about this place was wonderful, except for the music. I think it was too loud. It was hard to hear about the dishes that were being served.
The service and food was absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend it!
The flavors were phenomenal! I wished I had the skills for presentation that the chefs had, amazing!
The bbq pork bao was delicious, almost as good as the pork I make on my wood fire pit smoker(just lacking the bark I get on my pork butt). The flavors of all the dishes were excellent. Hats off to all the chefs!
We had a lovely experience at Jônt. The multi-course tasting menu—about 15 small dishes—was beautifully executed, with creative combinations and flavors we hadn’t experienced elsewhere. Service was excellent, good energy and vibe in the venue. we also appreciated the gluten-free accommodations for one guest in our party. We'd recommend it.
This is definitely an experience, one that stands out for its unique approach to food and impeccable service. The dishes were creative and thoughtfully presented, offering a flavor profile that leans more toward “interesting” than traditional. The true highlight of the night, though, was the separate dessert counter, an unexpected and delightful touch.
It is on the pricier side, but if you’re celebrating a special occasion and are curious about Michelin-level food, beverage pairings, and service, it’s absolutely worth checking out. A memorable night from start to finish.
This was a wonderful experience for me and my friends. There was definitely a lot of focus on high-end ingredients such as Wagyu beef, Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, and caviar. Interestingly, some regular ingredients paired surprisingly well with unique options—like who would expect doughnuts, jelly, and foie gras to go together? Only someone like Ryan Ratino could pull off such combinations. The to-go box was an excellent addition. They packed it with an abundance of sweets, and I made sure to share them with my husband the next day. The downside is that it’s a very expensive dining experience, likely the most costly in the DC area. We’ve only visited this restaurant for a very special occasion. We waited for months to get a reservation here as Jont is very popular.
I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing the pastry creations by Chef Regina at Jônt DC, and I’m still thinking about them. Her desserts weren’t just delicious — they were a true work of art. The balance of flavor, texture, and temperature showed a real mastery of technique, and the presentation was simply stunning. Every plate looked like it belonged in a gallery, yet tasted like comfort and elegance all at once. Chef Regina’s attention to detail and creativity made the experience unforgettable. She’s a star in the pastry world, and Jônt is lucky to have her!
Two members of my party got severe food poisoning. We have narrowed it down to Crab as the culprit. I reached out to Jont restaurant and they did not reply.
Food was good here and it’s worth the visit. Pastry took an hour and it resulted in a dinner time of 4+ hours. Pastry was also unpolished but aside from that, no issues.

Incredible. Some of the best bites we’ve had. Sweet potato dessert was out of this world. Highly recommend.
Jont in DC was such a cool experience! The vibe is fancy but not stuffy with an open kitchen that makes it fun to watch everything happen. The staff was super nice—they even showed us this cute Michelin Man figurine to share the story behind Michelin stars which I thought was awesome. The owner actually got the figurines themselves not from the award which is pretty neat. The food was amazing and looked so pretty… Everything tasted so good and felt so special. Totally worth it for a nice night out!
Absolutely wonderful experience.

Excellent service, thoughtful, inventive food. Beautiful presentation. I really enjoyed the venison dish and the A5 Wagyu. Their 2 Michelin Stars are well deserved.

Ambiance and Setting: Jont has a modern and urban atmosphere. They try to blend into the Washington, DC 14th street atmosphere. However, I think that they should consider if that atmosphere is a good fit for a Michelin 2-star restaurant. The seating gets a bit uncomfortable after an hour, and the music is a little loud. I couldn't hear about 50% of what the chefs and sommelier said. Decor and layout are nice; albeit, it is a bit sterile. Outside of this, it is all positive.
Service: Excellent service, the staff are professional and personalize your experience. The timing between courses is excellent and happens smoothly. The sommelier had excellent knowledge and provided insightful pairings and explanations.
Food Quality: Technical mastery and Taste/balance is at a 2-3 star level. The presentation is lacking a bit 1-2 star level. The ingredients are excellent and interesting; although, the chef seems to be playing it a bit safe.
Menu Structure: The variety of dishes is nice, but again, it is a bit safe. It feels a bit formulaically set to get/maintain that 2 star and maybe get a third. Creativity is lacking a bit, but course progression is nice.
Wine and Beverage: I had the wine pairing. It was excellent, but it could be a bit more creative. Again, it feels like a playing it safe approach.
Value: This is on the high side for Michelin 2-star prices. You should expect $500 per plate after gratuity.
The Executive Pastry Chef, Yoonjung Oh, is excellent. She maintained the very high quality that I experienced with the meal; however, she increased the level of creativity that was otherwise lacking.
Final Feedback: Turn down the music volume and reassess the selection. Bring more creativity and risk into the main menu. I am not sure how you get a third star with the atmosphere, and I am a bit surprised that you received a second star. The atmosphere is the main negative. If it was a positive, you would be at a third star level already (with some additional time to show consistency).

Update > Jont reached out to me directly and formally apologized. They provided a path of action they will be taking to ensure this will not arise again. I have modified my review because of their kinda words and actions.
The food was good until the end. They thought they were being cute and scoured my social media to add a printed out picture of my dog who died 2 years ago suddenly. I have never felt so much trauma in fine dining. I hope it is not a new trend because spending 3k on dinner and then crying from past trauma is terrible. Will never recommend to anyone.this was the worst dining experience of my life.

Dining at Jōnt was an overall excellent experience. The food was outstanding, with the risotto being the highlight of the night. We chose to add fresh truffles, which complemented the dish beautifully and elevated it even further. The cocktails were also exceptional, and I appreciated the unique touch of choosing our own chopsticks for one of the courses.
That said, I’m not really into desserts, and having four dessert courses was kinda overkill for me. The ambiance was okay, but sitting near the robata grill made it feel like a mini sauna—def not ideal for a long dinner.
The service? Top-tier. They paced everything perfectly, which I appreciated since I’m a slow eater. The featured Californian quail was cool to try, but TBH, I’m more of a red meat kinda person.
All in all, it’s definitely an experience—worth checking out if you’re into elevated dining with creative touches.

We visited Jont yesterday evening and it was an exceptionally memorable event. Everything that the staff works passionately at is like a well orchestrated dance that satisfies all of your senses. The food was delicious and was delivered by the loveliest and kindest staff who were very knowledgeable. You could tell they truly loved their jobs. We ate things that we never had before (ie: fish wrapped in scallops and foie gras topped with caviar - what?!!). They elevated the humble chicken to an unrecognizable level. Even the playlist was so fun and really made for a light hearted but elevated experience.
As if that wasn’t enough, the extra touches at the end were so remarkable. My wife and I have dined at Michelin star restaurants all over the world and we have never experienced what we did at Jont. This is a true THREE star experience, not two. We can’t wait to return again next time we’re in DC.
And p.s., I am dumbfounded by the minuscule amount of negative reviews. It just cannot be true. I query the authenticity of those reviews. Jont tops all of our Michelin experiences - by far!
